Scott Embry’s Saturday Junction Preview Posted on September 4, 2025September 4, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CASINO ROYALE has been around the mark the entire season at Carnarvon including running second on two occasions (1200 & 1400) and most recently sustained a run from a fair way back after missing the kick. Elisha Whittington is good at getting them out of the machine and if he jumps he should nearly lead them here. CHEST OUT SWAGGER will be improved for his first dirt outing at Carnarvon 6 days ago and the Aaron/Kate Pateman team rarely leave a meeting without a winner. MESSY SESSION was beaten 14L at Kal but it is Maley at Junction. THE MAN HIMSELF can again stroll forward. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – CASINO ROYALE WIN RACE 2 LACEVINSKY was a heart breaker last week at Carnarvon when leading for 1399m before being swamped on the post by in form Broome galloper Plato or Plomo. He’s drawn barrier 1, he kicks through to lead and Natika Riordan will be out and rolling from the 800. He’s fit, he’s in form and he’s really hard to run down. NOVATORIO is wayward and can be a tough steer on occasion but the last start effort behind emerging dirt specialist Gold Spy was super. FIES WITH THAT can park up on speed and keeps whacking away. ARCHER COUNTY hasn’t been seen for 6 weeks but is very consistent. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – LACEVINSKY WIN RACE 3 ROEY CLAM won a 70+ at Broome second-up and then ran second to Rogues Point and third to Starring Knight and Rogues Point. Probably hasn’t raced at the same level since but he’s also now dropped from a c73 back to a c68 and now they dop him back sharply in grade into a 56+ and claim off him with Holly Nottle’s luxurious 2kg allowance. Looks a great race to bounce back in. SOARING SOLO has turned a corner and is really running for Jefferson Tsang. Last two the best she’s produced in 18 months. SHOOTING KONTIKI is having his 16th run of the prep but just continues to find. ROMERO’s best chance is leading. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – ROEY CLAM WIN RACE 4 KIMBERLEY CURRENCY trialled really well at Belmont Park and actually beat home plunge debut winner Hedawood in the process. He himself went to Carnarvon last Sunday and got through the dirt well to pull clear for an authorative win late at 1000m. Steps out to 1200, but carries the same weight into a 48+ and Ash Maley’s horses usually dominate the Junction program. MAIDMY WAY won first-up last campaign at York in a 46+ on the grass. Only 2L off Magnachine and Delicate Ruler last start at Northam – big watch. MRS KANGAROO isn’t showing the same customary early dash but if Tiarna Murray got her out in front and rolling she’d be a chance. SHASFA has handled dirt racing well. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – KIMBERLEY CURRENCY WIN RACE 5 SLUICE BOX ran fourth in the Junction Cup in 2024 as a beaten favourite but think he’s going even better in 2025. He was off the track throughout at Kalgoorlie behind Sunny Times and then went to town and was holding his own late behind Ilgiro Delmondo and Olden in a race that turned into a real slog. LUTZ won the Derby Cup and ran second at Broome to subsequent winner Alotta Dane at Broome three weeks ago. Drops 4.5kg on that effort and will keep coming. STREET MASCHINO rolls them along in front. HAFEY found the Cups Series at Broome a bit too strong. This is easier. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – SLUICE BOX WIN RACE 6 GONDRINKIN split Decoration and Feuding at Kalgoorlie two starts back and with Decoration coming out to win the Tattersalls Club Cup and lining up in the Coolgardie Cup on Sunday it looks like great form to drop back in distance and grade and take out a 48+ 1400 at Junction. CHOICE BID sat close handy behind a solid tempo set by Lacevinsky last week at Carnarvon and he looks a standout in Race 2 earlier in the program to make the form look even stronger. LE TROY has run a few minors at Carnarvon after breaking his maiden early in the season. TALKABOUTYOU tends to go: one good, one bad and is due for a good run. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – GONDRINKIN WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3 1,3,4,7 3,5 1,2 Market Market
