Scott Embry’s Saturday Geraldton Preview Posted on March 8, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RYDON looks like he will be close enough to odds on but should be winning first-up. His provincial form is far superior to anything in this field. RED EPIC went well fresh on both occasions in WA and can run another good race here. YOURTHEONEFORME was disappointing first-up and the grammatical abomination has been left in Gero. RULEEMOFF has blistering early speed and can lead. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – RYDON WIN Race 2 EBONY MAGI picks himself on form. His first two runs this campaign would see him start $1.50 and Glenn Smith makes a rare trip away from the metro area to pick up the ride. Should be far too classy for these. BLUE MOTION has run a place at all four starts this preparation and again looks to be there. FLAMING GALAH has her fair share of ability and will be weaving a passage late. APPROACH showed a bit at the trials before three lackluster performances. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 11 – 8 Suggested Bet – EBONY MAGI WIN Race 3 GOLDEN ACRES finds it hard to string wins together but was a big winner from a long way back two starts ago and then more than competitive in harder last start. Looks hard to hold out. FULLY STOKED won two on the bounce earlier in the year and look the danger. HOT STAR has a turn of foot and can never be discounted. HUSON MAID fresh can run a race. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN ACRES WIN Race 4 JIMMY RAPID has always shown a level of ability and now in the care of Dion Luciani and first-up can run a big race. This field lacks any real depth and if he is close to full fitness first-up then looks a bet with Smith on. THE CROWN PRINCE likely comes out running from a wide gate and puts speed into the race. STELLINA has been hitting the line consistently well. FRENCH ESCAPE gets the right run. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – JIMMY RAPID WIN Race 5 HOT STYLE was more himself last start. Not entirely sure what happened first-up when he went pretty poorly on face value but he bounced straight back. Gets back naturally so the wide gate is fine and this field is not deep. SADLERS HILLS has had a frustrating preparation for connections. Continues to loom the winner. DYNAMITE JACK has drawn awkwardly and is 11 starts into a long preparation but continues to hit the line. YADREAMIN on the fresh side can run a race. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – HOT STYLE WIN Race 6 KWIKON THE TRIGGER simply doesn’t run out a strong 1100m. If conditions suit and the leaders can jump and run and kick off the corner then he again looks hard to run down. Edwards will need to use him early, that’s the concern. REBELLIONAIRE looked like being a fantastic Geraldton acquisition and he can definitely string a few together. VITAL ASSET was charging last start but draws poorly. BEHROOZ a mad one for novelties. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – KWIKON THE TRIGGER WIN Race 7 HALLDORA has been freshened up and has been thriving since arriving in Geraldton. Hill is drawn wide but should come across with the two noted speedsters. Any luck and she is in the finish. HELMS GATE has Ascot and Belmont 72+ form which would see him winning by panels but since arriving in Geraldon has not been able to get warm. ON THE TURPS dropping back to 1100m could end up a long way back. WOOMERA made a solid return to the races for his #1 fan Beeps Patto. Numbers: 12 – 4 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – HALLDORA WIN Race 8 FREEDOM BY CHOICE is still looming as a genuine contender for the Geraldton Cup. Has run a race in the last two editions and is hitting form at the right time. From the gate Smith has options and he looks hard to beat. BIG SHOT PADDY is progressive and the money landed hard last start. He can go close. DASHING IMAGE keeps stepping up in trip and grade and continues to get the job done. Astute purchase from some well known owners. This is harder drawn wide and Turner jumping ship. HECADANES CHOICE has really cooled off on strong early form. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – FREEDOM BY CHOICE WIN Quad (Race 5 – 8) 1 1,2 2,4,6,9,10,12 4,6 Market Market
