Scott Embry’s Saturday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 10, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ACTIVATE ME could do exactly what the Angela Smith – Mollie Clark combination achieved in the maiden last week. Cross, lead, control and win. Provincial form looks good for this. STAR MAGNET has run some handy minor places and nothing was going to catch Lady Talent last start. MY CHINA DOLL was well thought of in the same race and was unable to come on . MASCHERANO creates interest at Carnarvon debut. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – ACTIVATE ME WIN Race 2 FAITH IN FATE has gone to a new level. Running time and lumping weight. See no reason why a hat-trick won’t be posted here. Should cross to lead. TWO FOR TWENTY TWO bounced back to some of his better form last start. Excellent pick up ride for Ben Paterson. BALROV used to show speed and if McNaught took up a prominent position could run a cheeky race. RUN FOR A REASON has been a shade disappointing since showing promise early in the season. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – FAITH IN FATE WIN Race 3 LADY TALENT is made for the 1000m races at Carnarvon. Speedy type who rounds the corner like a greyhound and pinches a couple of lengths as they straighten for home. GERSHOM has speed and may look to hold out Lady Talent early or take a trail. NET PROFIT goes well at Carnarvon, probably suited over further. ROSA FILENTE back to 1000 is a query but was going alright before scratched behind the gates last start. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – LADY TALENT WIN Race 4 SEA TRYST was flying late last start from well back in the field. If he can stay in contact with the leaders over a more suitable trip then he is right in the mix. JUENDIS bolted in last start and that was his first win at 1400m. A little unknown up to the mile. O’REILLY’S CRUMPET was big first-up and then raced a little flat last start. HUE AND CRY on his day can run a race. Jockey/Trainer combination have a ridiculously good strike rate. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – SEA TRYST WIN Race 5 REGAL HONOUR was unable to really break open the field last start and pinch a break before they turned the corner. The quicker Mollie Clark lets the old boy roll the better for his winning chances. FARALON and BALMONT STUNNER are both going very well and there is not a lot between the Hammarquist pair. TAKE NO PRISONERS is a question-mark on the surface but hit the line well on a rain affected track at Belmont first-up. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – REGAL HONOUR EACHWAY Race 6 SUPER SAXON has been the consistent follow horse all preparation. From gate 1 hopefully can hold up and either lead or sit right behind the leader’s heels. DIAMOND JOLSON was impressive at his Carnarvon debut and then improved again at start number two to win. Can go on with it. PORTRAIT LAO has finished top two at his last five. Can’t argue with that form. GLOWING ROCK is not going as well as early in the year but a far more suitable trip Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – SUPER SAXON WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,8 2 1,2,7 1,2,3 Market Market
