Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on August 29, 2019September 2, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MANHATTAN MONEY has started unders at almost every start in her career but now will fall into a winnable race and go round at an eachway quote. She was held up the entire length of the straight behind tiring runners at her most recent and previous two placings were strong enough to figure in the finish here. INDISISIVE went round at 100-1 last start but really made Belle of Liberty work for the victory. Belle of Liberty looks to have a future and a repeat performance puts her right in the mix. JOVELLA was well commissioned at her first start for JT Warwick and had genuine excuses. 1400 suits better. INDIAN CHANT made ground late last week. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – MANHATTAN MONEY EACHWAY Race 2 SUPERSTORM is another Cerise and White debutant who will jump odds on and looks like being one to follow going forward to the spring and summer. He didn’t show a lot of early toe at trials but it was hard to miss his finishing acceleration. Looks to have an abundance of ability. IS A BOMBSHELL comes from one of the better juvenile form references so far this year. Windstorm looks like he could be anything and two subsequent winners have already come from the race. PLATINUM BULLET comes out running and if she can find the fence or anywhere near it she’ll give a sight. AMELIA’S CONTRAIRE took her impressive trial to the midweeks first-up winning soft. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – SUPERSTORM WIN Race 3 EXCISE FREE has blinkers added for the first time in her career and they were not worn in either recent trial. She has strong 3 year old form and while two of her three wins are down the 1000m straight she looks like getting across to sit behind Ice Maker. NIGHT VOYAGE won well last weekend. He didn’t go round a horse but carried 62.5 with authority. Should enjoy a similar run in transit, the difference being that Ice Maker does not wobble away from the fence. BEL MY PAGO was super impressive first-up. Bursting through a gap late to score. CITICHANT was well supported last week and ran well. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – EXCISE FREE WIN Race 4 DON’T FUSS has been in a purple patch of form for 3 or 4 months now. At his most recent was nailed on the post when taking up the running in a Listed race and prior to that an emphatic winner when sitting deep throughout. New resident apprentice Chris Graham has ridden him before and this is a nice race for him. DANNY GEORGE won two on the bounce before finding a mountain of traffic last time out. He should get the right run for him to produce his best. FLOYD is consistent as they come. He may need to punch the breeze outside stablemate Saracino but is capable of doing so and winning. SARACINO leads for a long way and is finally ready to win one in WA, Numbers: 3 – 8 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – DON’T FUSS WIN Race 5 GATTING is 10 ratings points clear of any other runner in the field. He is one of the few WA horses suited at WFA and even though 1300m is short of his pet distance if he is within striking distance turning for home should take a stack of beating. GREAT AGAIN concedes huge weight swings to some rivals from his Newmarket victory but again leads comfortable and takes running down. REBEL KING can tow ball Great Again and has a 5kg weight swing to work with. MULTIVERSE was brave last start when caught deep in the small field. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – GATTING WIN Race 6 FINAL HEARING was unsuited last start with no speed whatsoever in the race but still he was undeniably disappointing. He is better than what he showed and only needs to reproduce any of his 3 year old feature efforts to go very close. There is speed in this race which should help his cause. RECHARGER has been brave in defeat at his last few running strong sections. Back to 1200m he should bounce straight to the top and get every possible chance to cause the upset. WHY CHOOSE HER lead last start when nobody wanted to be there. Got away with a first 600 which was over 12L below benchmark. Simply had to win from there and duly saluted. Loves it wet. WANNA BE GOOD backs up after looming as the winner last weekend. Awkwardly drawn for a 3kg apprentice. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – FINAL HEARING WIN Race 7 ZARATITE is going through the grades very quickly. He has a powerful turn of foot and provided he is within 6 or 7 lengths of the leaders coming into the corner he should continue on his merry way. Brave to launch into a short quote in an apprentices race but he is far and away the best animal. ABELDANE is not brilliantly away so drawn 15 is perfect for him. He will pull his way forward and Bennett should find the front after a couple of furlongs. He is capable of running them ragged at a price. NOIR DE RUE incredibly has his 10th run since 1 June and never runs a bad race. He pinches one soon. PADDY’S SHADOW is bursting to win a race and the pace on suits her. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ZARATITE WIN Race 8 BLUE HORSE has really emerged from left field. She won a weak maiden at 20-1 three starts ago, a ripping second at 30-1 two starts ago behind Black Shadow and then last start charged through the line behind Purist from a long way off them at the 200. Drawn poorly but the likely leader is drawn outside her. Any luck and she’s right in the mix. SONNEN comes from the same race as Blue Horse behind Black Shadow. Not a known miler but definitely capable in this grade of winning. VERMONT LADY has had absolutely no luck in her last two campaigns for Paige Kenney. Big effort last start when deep the trip. Now draws the inside. KELLY’S SECRET is racing well, draws well, maps well but up in grade. Numbers: 11 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – BLUE HORSE EACHWAY Race 9 FESTIVAL MISS won a 1400m race two starts ago when she was able to sit one out and two back, loom into the race and accelerate straight past tiring leaders. This is a tougher assignment but she is one of the few in this race with a senior rider on and drawn a gate. Should be given every chance. THE FUGAZI is a progressive 4 year old with a stack of ability. Shaun McGruddy is riding particularly well but he needs luck. IN LOVE WITH PARIS has been there abouts all preparation. RED PUBLISHER ran a race first-up and improves here. Numbers: 12 – 14 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – FESTIVAL MISS EACWHAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,4,5,7,9 1,2,4,9 1,3,6,11 1,2,3,4,6,11,12,14 Market Market
