Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on August 15, 2019August 19, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PATY’S FORCAST was a brilliant run on debut back in May when clocking the fastest 400-200 and 200-post splits in the race and some of the best sections on the entire card. Immediately tipped out and returning with a solid trial victory on Monday she looks very hard to beat. JOVELLA resumes for a new stable and the trial was impressive. The intriguing part is the trial was in shades. No blinkers race day. LOOKS LIKE MAGIC was far from disgraced first-up against far better opposition than she meets here. SHERPA LASS caught the eye in her one and only trial. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – PATY’S FORCAST WIN Race 2 LONG BEACH was unable to reel in the leader on debut, but the run was full of merit. Should only improve for the outing and experience and draws soft here to stalk the speed. IGARASHI trialed very well for a return to the races and should get all the favors on the fence. PLATINUM BULLET was able to cross on debut and won impressively after being challenged. Interesting to see where she lobs in the run with some speed drawn underneath. EXCELESTIAL has shades added to race gear and both runs have been full of merit. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – LONG BEACH WIN Race 3 ZARATITE has been scratched the last two Saturdays which is of slight concern but if you’re willing to trust team Williams that he is still on top of his game then he’ll take a stack of beating. Has an electric turn of foot and is improving with every outing. Can rocket through the grades. HERE COMES LENNI backs off 7 days for the second week in a row. Extremely well supported at his last few runs and gets a far better run than he did last weekend. MAGIC LAS VEGAS has been knocking on the door and now gets a noted front running rider engaged. ROYAL STRATA loves the quick back-ups and has no weight on her back. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – ZARATITE WIN Race 4 CRYPTIC LOVE won a nice three year old race two starts ago which contained talented types Flower of War, Lipstick Flickers, Essential Spice, Fairview and Festival Miss. Last start was beaten by the barrier and conceded the leaders a huge head start before thundering home late. The overall race was 3 lengths above benchmark and she draws far better here. UNI TIME is the obvious, and likely only danger. Progressive type who is improving with racing. PATROCITY is right in the mix if you can forgive his last start effort. SENSE OF POWER should bounce to the lead and give cheek. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – CRYPTIC LOVE WIN Race 5 GREAT AGAIN gets a wonderful opportunity to open his black type account. Is best kept fresh, is best on rain affected tracks and is best allowed to roll along in front. He gets all three conditions met on Saturday and should take running down. LOCKROY is low flying and will be stalking the speed. No reason why he can’t win again. REBEL KING likely sits in the breeze and always runs well. TAMASA is the X-Factor horse in the race. Winner of 5 from 8 over East and now in the care of Lindsey Smith. Toughest test to date and racing outside the handicap. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – GREAT AGAIN WIN Race 6 FINAL HEARING simply picks himself in this race. His form when last in work was against some of the better 3 year olds of the season and he was right in the mix in all of those races. Changes stable, trialed impressively and draws to sit close behind a moderate tempo. Should be winning. THREE SECRETS finally broke through last start for his second career victory. He looks like walking to the front and controlling the race. LOOKOUT won with a powerful finishing sprint last week in fast time. Backs up off 7 days and has to go close again. WHY CHOOSE HER was big two starts ago in a hot form race. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – FINAL HEARING WIN Race 7 FLOYD came home with a wet sail in the Listed H.G Bolton behind Valour Road and subsequent New Season Sprint winner Lockroy. He draws a gate to sit over the speed, absolutely loves the 1000 at Belmont, runs for Noske and can give the favourite something to run down. ESSENTIAL SPICE was incredible last start. No other word for it. She exploded in season best times. If she reproduces, she wins. SARACINO has been the target of solid support recently and is getting closer to a maiden WA win. PYM’S ROYALE is not a 1000m horse but has a turn of foot. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – FLOYD EACHWAY Race 8 NEUROLOGICAL is another plumb ride for W.Pike. Last start was stopped in his tracks at crucial stages and still managed to pick up and win. Should land in a near identical spot in running and from there he is clearly the one to beat. MIRACLE MAN can sit leader’s back with no weight and run another good race. CHIX PIC was jumping out of the ground late last start and probably should have won. TAXAGANO is going great guns but again looks doomed to sit three deep no cover the trip. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – NEUROLOGICAL WIN Race 9 NEXT STOP THE MOON is going through the grades quickly and the times he is clocking suggest that he will continue to take the next step. He can lead from the inside draw or showed last start that he can take a sit if required. Either way he enjoys the run of the race. SONNEN is not a known miler but is ever consistent and has more wins in his old legs. BLACK SHADOW was backed as if unbeatable last start and duly saluted. Likely does it tougher from the gate. DIVINE SHADOW steps up in grade but the form from his last win has been super. Number: 7 – 2 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – NEXT STOP THE MOON WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2 1,2,4 3,7,8,10,11 1,2,6,7,9 Market Market
