Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on September 13, 2018September 18, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 AGENT PIPPA looked home on the corner but really hit the wall over the final 50m. Was first-up without a trial and last preparation was a huge improver second-up. Has the speed to burn them off and lead. MAGIC PLANET should get a lovely run behind the speed on the fence and then punters rely on Pike to get him out. PABLO’S POEM is a query back to the 1000 and just where he will end up in running but is a nice type. METRO BOY toyed with mediocre opposition in midweek grade but before that was luckless in the Flirtini race. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – AGENT PIPPA WIN Race 2 PRINCE O’LARA is still very raw for a 4 year old who has had 10 starts but some of the early efforts against quality three year old company were big. He has trialed well and in a race devoid of speed Hill can find the front and control. OUQBA TED lay in badly last start and really went to the line untested. Blinkers on, back in trip, he is a big danger. STAN BY ME looks to have come back well and should box seat from the draw. SECONDA VITA is running great races but likely ends up a fair way back on the fence in a lot of traffic. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – PRINCE O’LARA EACHWAY Race 3 NELSON’S FLIGHT enjoyed the run of the race until the 250m marker when runs were closing on Glenn Smith everywhere. Eventually got out and charged to win impressively. Very awkward draw here but could come across with New Time. GREAT AGAIN has won four on the bounce and holds the big advantage of barrier 1. Pateman can have him wherever he wants and has to be very hard to beat. GET OVER IT was more than competitive against both so far this preparation and the shades go back on and senior rider first time. ELEGANT BLAST can sprint well fresh off a soft run. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – NELSON’S FLIGHT EACHWAY Race 4 MAN BOOKER was enormous in defeat first-up after a long spell. Should be improved fitness wise and while there are lot of weight swings against him from the Idyllic Prince his run was in a different category to rivals. YEAH DARDY on paper looks the only danger but is a huge query at the trip. Only raced at 1300m once in his life in a Northam C5. DREAM LIFTER is a first three chance because he should lead without challenge. BOLLYWOOD BLITZ was an improved run alst start. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAN BOOKER WIN Race 5 PRETENTIOUS CHANT is always a risky betting proposition because he gets back. Found traffic the entire length of the home straight last start but if he can cart up three deep then gets another chance. UNDISCLOSED looked the winner until hitting a brick wall at the 25m mark. She should find the front again. I AM INCREDIBLE maps to enjoy an identical run to when he won two starts ago and can bounce back. LOCKROY can’t be discounted first-up. Normally trials like a bomb fresh. Definite blow out chance. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRETENTIOUS CHANT EACHWAY Race 6 DARK PROSPECT backs up off 7 days, drops from a 72+ back into a far more suitable Graduation race and likely settles closer to the speed than his main rival. Gets his chance third-up. REVEILLE ran well first-up in a race which has produced a lot of top form behind Prize Catch and then was mowing turf late on a heavy8 last start. Big danger. ROSE’S SHADOW is drawn sticky but shades should improve him. NOIR DE RUE leads or box seats and can run a race back from Kalgoorlie. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – DARK PROSPECT EACHWAY Race 7 GOLD ARTISAN is really racing consistently and while he will get back from an ugly draw he should be winding up down the outside and in a very even race with at least 6 winning chances should be eachway. JAZARI was very strongly supported in the Apprentices Cup and did it tough. He may settle closer this time out. SCOONER was a nice enough run when shooting up the fence in the same race. Can win this. JUICING CARROTS is a winner off 7 days and put in another great run in 72+ grade last week. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – GOLD ARTISAN EACHWAY Race 8 MANTIME really should be backing up from Wednesday and has found a weak Graduation race. Tayla Stone has been the key to his return to winning form and she looks like jumping and running again. He’ll take a stack of catching. YINDI looks the only real danger in the race. Fresh 49 days between runs he should sit midfield and unleash late. PINBALL WIZARD may find the front if Mantime doesn’t back-up. That would enhance his chances tenfold. LADY LE JEAN put in an uncharacteristic performance last start. Again likely settles a fair way off them. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – MANTIME WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,5,9 5,6 3,5,6,8,9,11 2,4 Market Market
