Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on May 24, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MASTER MAGICIAN safely held At The Ready last start and should get a lovely run in the breeze a couple of lengths off Corporate Larrikin. Can be the first to sweep past that galloper and again hold At The Ready. AT THE READY should in theory appreciate the longer straight at Belmont but we do normally see them struggle to make ground early in the season. CORPORATE LARRIKIN will be hoping that there is less rain than expected. DUDEMANBRO however will be doing a rain dance in his stall. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MASTER MAGICIAN WIN SuperPick - Race 1 No. 1 Master Magician - Money Back Race 2 MARKET RULER will likely go round prohibitive odds but ran into the very sharp Black Sabbath and then belted reasonable opposition. This is no harder and she should be tough to beat again. ESSENTIAL SPICE over reacted badly in her 950m trial to the whip when produced. Should have probably won that trial and looked good in subsequent 400m jump out. ALCINA is a speed demon who will look to clear out. CAROLINA REAPER was brave fresh when marching deep. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – MARKET RULER WIN Race 3 ALPHA SKY is up sharply in weight but after the claim for Kate Witten should still have rivals covered. Likely ends up in the breeze and from there controls the race. GIFTED WARRIOR gets a 3kg weight swing and gun draw, he looks the testing material. DRIFTWOOD GIRL is up sharply in distance but has been savaging the line. ACONITE was just as good as Gifted Warrior two starts back and heavily backed at her most recent. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – ALPHA SKY WIN Race 4 GALAXY STAR is one of the most promising gallopers in the State and really is emerging as a contender for bigger races in the summer. If she handles the quick back up and they can make ground she should prove too strong. PUSHIN’ SHAPES settled further back than anticipated, was held up and charged to the line second-up. MIZLECKI is drawn very awkwardly but she’s a classy filly. PINZU was held up at crucial stages last start, again settles near last. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – GALAXY STAR WIN Race 5 REYKJAVIK has only won the one race in his career but has competed at a pretty high level throughout. He carried a huge weight last start on top of a hot tempo and was brave to the line. ARCADIA PRINCE went under in the red last start, the extra trip certainly helps his chances. ROCKON TOMMY back to Belmont Park and with all the gear removed could be an improver. CHESTEN FLYER hit the line hard against two quality animals last weekend. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – REYKJAVIK EACHWAY Race 6 STAGEMAN has the golden Fabergino form and was probably the best run in that race outside of the winner. Drawn awkwardly but probably doesn’t have to settle as far back as many expect. SPEEDING COMET has been runner up to one of the more exciting types in the State at his two most recent starts. Don’t underestimate the loss of Tayla Stone to his chances. HARD OF HEART has incredible race form and is very well weighted. SOPHIA’S SECRET is a very nice filly resuming. Numbers: 5 – 1 -6 – 8 Suggested Bet – STAGEMAN WIN Race 7 VITAL SILVER was possibly in need of the run first-up and should strip fitter and up to a more suitable distance range he should prove too good for them. Maps perfectly too. SIXPENCE SPENT should be right behind him and ran an eye catcher at Northam. LORD LUDLOW can push forwards into a prominent position and his form last preparation was excellent. KLEVA KEZZA is a massive mare who will only improve with racing. Awkwardly drawn. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – VITAL SILVER WIN Race 8 ENTICING STAR has been racing well below her ideal distance range and if they can make any inch of ground she looks like she will zap them down the outside from a long way back. RIVER DANCE has the speed necessary to get outside the likely leader in Sir Snugalot. His Geraldton form is red hot and no surprise to see him run a race at odds. RED PADDY falls into the most winnable race he has seen in a while and has a key gear change. THE GOSPEL SIN won’t know himself with a postage stamp weight. Numbers: 12 – 2 – 1 – 14 Suggested Bet – ENTICING STAR WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,5 1,5,6,8 1,2,7,8,12 1,2,12 Bet Now
