Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on November 29, 2018December 4, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 AGENT PIPPA comes into this fresh from a tilt at the Group 3 Prince of Wales where she was unable to cross Super Maxi and did it tough. Leads them from the inside and gets her chance again. HOW TO FLY is a winner off 7 days and was sound last weekend chasing Misty Metal. Has beaten Agent Pippa comfortably in the past and gets back with Pike. TANGO ORA likely sits outside the lead and is going well. JINGTANG should sit 1×1 and get every chance. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – AGENT PIPPA WIN Race 2 JERICHO MISSILE could not have been more impressive at either trial. Looks like he has the speed to hold up early and then take a sit on Specialism. He looks to be the classiest type she has run into to date. SPECIALISM is really suited at the set weights conditions. If they let her cross to the fence she’ll take some serious catching. RAPID EYE MOVEMENT looked to have ability at trials. SACRED KING was slow away and made solid ground on debut. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – JERICHO MISSILE WIN Race 3 SPILLINOVA was able to lead without challenge and dominate at his most recent. Steps up in grade, however, looks like getting things his own way again out in front and will have a decent head start on his main rival. ARCADIA PRINCE was not entitled to win last start. He sat well off them in a slowly run race and unleashed a powerful turn of foot to win. Can do the same here. TAXAGANO ran out of his skin in the Peters Stakes. If he can get in he’ll be in the mix. MIDDLE EARTH will appreciate a cooler temperature after melting first-up. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – SPILLINOVA WIN Race 4 SONG OF VINCENT has run on paper two below average performances so far this preparation. Looks like he needs 1500m and looks like he will find the front unchallenged here. Senior rider goes on and was heavily supported in a stronger Graduation last preparation. PLATOON backs up off 7 day and drops out of a very strong edition of the WA Guineas. He jumps off the page and is clearly the one to beat. CRYSTAL VALLEY didn’t have a lot of luck in a race which has produced subsequent winners already. THISAWAY is probably going better than looks. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – SONG OF VINCENT EACHWAY Race 5 ROYAL COMMAND has been beaten under $5 at his last 5 starts and will likely jump in the red here. You’d have to be brave to be taking that price but he does look to have finally found his race. This is far more suitable than last start when he was heavily commissioned. RISING SEA looks the logical and only danger on paper. Should find the front and get it very cheap. A BIT SKETCHY is going well enough to figure in the finish. Loomed large in the York Cup. UPWARDS OTHERS is just about ready. Caught the eye last start. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – ROYAL COMMAND WIN Race 6 FINALLY FRENCH has finished in the top 2 at all 7 career runs and it looks as though if he is ridden aggressively early he can find the fence and cross all runners to his inside. From there he will be mighty hard to beat. SNOW BLOSSOM will get the pace on and should track up three deep with cover. She has a brilliant turn of foot but question remains if conditions will suit. VERMONT LADY lumps a big weight but should jump straight into a position in running. FATHER KNICK likely settles three back the fence and winds up late. Numbers: 8 – 10 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – FINALLY FRENCH WIN Race 7 DAINTY TESS was in sensational form early this preparation, getting back in fast run 1000m races and coming with a breathtaking turn of foot. Last start looked plain on face value but the way the race was run she was never going to figure. They’ll fly here and she is a live chance. VIDDORA won this race off a very similar preparation in 2017 and after the barrier draw she is clearly the one they all have to beat. Easily forgive her run in the Everest. ENTICING STAR is far and away the most intriguing runner in the field. Toughest test to date in her career and could spot the leaders more than 7 or 8 lengths. VALOUR ROAD may not have the same credentials as all his rivals but if he finds the front will give cheek. Numbers: 11 – 10 – 13 – 15 Suggested Bet – DAINTY TESS EACHWAY Race 8 TRULY BELONG was rattling late and stiff not to win first-up. Should enjoy a similar run in transit here and if they are making any ground then the Wizard will be weaving through traffic and charging. ILLUSTRIOUS TYCOON has a real X-Factor about him. Undefeated after 3 and really did sharpen up in his most recent trial. Sits outside Ice Maker and goes straight past him as they straighten. KAKUDU is well in at the weights after his 3 year old allowance and can hold a position in running. DOUBLE JEOPARDY comes across with quality East Coast 3 year old form including chasing Nature Strip. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 13 – 5 Suggested Bet – TRULY BELONG WIN Race 9 BROTHER’S KEEPER was uncharacteristically fired up in the gates and missed away at his most recent. Did a great job lumping 60kg in a fast run race. If he can jump and position up has to be right in it. THE BIG SHOW won brilliantly at the staying trip three deep the trip and then dropped back to 1800m where he lacked any sort of turn of foot. This is more suitable. MAGICAL CHARM will carry plenty of punters home in the last and there is no reason why she can’t go on with it here. DECOY NOXIOUS sneaks under the radar again, he could be a handy stayer. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – BROTHER’S KEEPER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,8,10,16 2,6,10,11,12,13,15 2,9 2,3,4,5,8,9,10,12 Market Market
