Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on May 2, 2019May 6, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WE’VE GOT DREAMS takes on some more expierenced and sharp opposition on debut but has looked above average herself at trials. From the draw should sit in a lovely spot and can run a cheeky race. SPECIALISM is talented but in an awkward part of a preparation, fourth up and from 1400 back to 1000m. HIGH RANGE is unlikely to find the fence again but can’t knock either win to date. WAR SAINT won well on debut on a Heavy8 but draw makes it hard. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – WE’VE GOT DREAMS PLACE Race 2 DANCE MUSIC picks herself and should make it six wins from seven starts. Her first-up win was over a smart type in Catherine Wheel and after the 3kg claim for a noted front running apprentice she looks the winner, and an easy winner. CITY CIRCLE can run second if holding leader’s back. ADVOCATOR is still a maiden but last three have been excellent. DAISHIO may need to sit outside the favorite and could get burnt off. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – DANCE MUSIC WIN Race 3 SPECIAL DELIVERY looks like he is spinning the wheels on rain affected tracks in his older years. Both efforts when there has been rain around have been below par and then he usually bounces back on top of the ground. Was big two starts ago. MONEY MAHER is a boom 3 year old returning after a long injury enforced lay off. He is a nice animal but may not be fully wound up. MAJINIKA was able to walk them and sprint home last start to victory. Expecting Azzopardi to adopt similar tactics. SHOWCASE has run two good races since returning. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL DELIVERY EACHWAY Race 4 ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT and FREE TRADE look like locking horns in a match race here. FREE TRADE either leads or sits outside of De Andes and Route Eighty Eight will sit leader’s back regardless of who it is. ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT was big in defeat in a fast run race last week and showed she is ready to win at 1200m. FREE TRADE is a lightly raced talent and will take a stack of beating, especially if finding the fence. KING’S AUTHORITY is consistent but lacks a killer blow. DE ANDES won well in Albany but doesn’t seem to go at Ascot. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT WIN Race 5 REBEL KNIGHT looks yet another favourite on a thin Ascot card who should be saluting. Many will anchor him in the quaddie and in multis and he looks the winner. Effort behind classy 3 year old Cup Night was excellent and this is a big drop in class. AL DI LA gets an opportunity to waltz to the front and get it cheap. MAKE MINE CHAMPERS has been savaging the line but settles a fair way off them in her races. LEADING MAN was not suited last start and can bounce back. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – REBEL KNIGHT WIN Race 6 FABERGINO was beaten fair and square last start. Her previous 1000m win was enormous and she really is the perfect example of ‘faster the better’. All of her wins have been sectionally sizzling but when not allowed to run pulls herself into the ground. Chasing Mervyn should suit. MERVYN is lightning quick for 890m. After that he paddles but you still have to run him down. DAM READY back to 1000m is the blow out. Has won 76+ races from a soft draw. MARKET RULER back to 1000m also looks far better suited. Forget she went round last start. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – FABERGINO WIN Race 7 PING ME ANOTHER is a maiden, but a maiden who is Natasha placed, Oaks placed and Derby placed. Derby run behind Regal Power and Cockney Crew was simply sensational and now dropping back to an 1800m 64+ with only 54.5 on her back looks great placement. Not a defined leader in the race, McGruddy could elect to take it up. MIDNIGHT SKY continues to run good races even whilst not finishing the money. DARK MUSKET has been in far higher grade his last 21 starts. KENSINGTON ABBEY was eye catching first-up and then put in a plain one second-up. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – PING ME ANOTHER WIN Race 8 LITTLE FISH looks one of the better ‘shorties’ for the day. Sectionally exceptional in the Special Reward, Diablerie race which has held up ten fold and then three and four deep the trip last start when only nailed late. From the draw sits midfield and then powers over then. SETTLER’S CREEK is again well placed in this grade with the use of a 3kg claimer. DEBELLATIO is a bit hard to catch but capable. DIAMOND TONIQUE is the X-Factor horse, trialed well. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – LITTLE FISH WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2 1,2,3,6 1,2,3,8 5 Market Market
