Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on March 8, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MEDIA BARON was last in a field of 14 with a stung out, broken open field where he would have been spotting the leader at least 12 lengths or more. His finishing effort was strong and the small field suits. BELLA’S IDOL won a race last week which was just as strong as this. No reason he can’t go back to back. MIKIMOTO took the entire length of the straight to get over Resistance. Query on the form and how well she has come back. SLICED BREAD has won for Jason Brown on the back-up previously. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – MEDIA BARON EACHWAY Race 2 SAMIZDAT gave his loyal followers a heart attack at the 600m in the Pinjarra Magic Millions. Took a long time to wind up and balance but when he did his final furlongs were breath taking. Will be off them over the 1100m with 60kg but he is very good. FAIRVIEW is flying and she will be making her run alongside the favourite. METRO BOY was hampered at critical stages last start and gets a 4kg weight swing on Fairview. CAERHELAN should sit in the box seat. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – SAMIZDAT WIN Race 3 CAROCAPO draws gate 1 and should lead on his ear. If Brown finds the front and does what he does best – pinch a cheap section mid race then he will be mighty hard to hold out. Drops in grade and the form around Seeker and Dam Ready looks brilliant after last weekend. PYM’S ROYALE went well first-up. Pateman will need to pull something out to find a position from the awkward gate but nobody is riding better. HOBOKEN backs up off 7 days for the second time and his win was impressive. MY DEMI also boasts the “Fabergino Form” which has been a license to print money far. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – CAROCAPO WIN Race 4 IS A BOMBSHELL and RIO DEL MAR both look like fillies who can test the raced brigade on debut. IS A BOMBSHELL will concede them a head start but looks to have a motor and a turn of foot. RIO DEL MAR has bypassed plenty of easy races to be thrown in the deep end but looks promising. PRIM AND PROPER should only improve with the first-up run where she was stiff not to win. RUBIC ROSE rolls forwards to make her own luck. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – IS A BOMBSHELL WIN Race 5 MIDNIGHT SKY put the writing on the wall first-up in a 64+ when getting right back from the outside gate. She was able to get some soft runs towards the inside but still showed excellent acceleration and dropping in grade and drawing a gate looks the one to beat. THREE SECRETS has been the target of strong support all preparation. He finally draws a gate and can sit forward of midfield. FAIR SONARI should get everything his own way out in front. FLOWER OF SCOTLAND is a hard one to catch but on her day is fairly handy. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT SKY WIN Race 6 PINZU drops out of the Detonator and this kind of race is well within his grasp at his best. This is not a flash 76+ and he can win. SPECIAL DELIVERY has really impressed so far this campaign. Won well first-up and then was a huge run when finishing third behind Alpha Sky. Last start lumped 61.5 and loomed as the winner. ABDICATOR put in a shocker first-up but that was in a sharply run Scenic Blast. Has predominantly soft track winter form and his recent trial left a bit to be desired. Jury is out. ROCKON TOMMY showed a bit last week when giving cheek. If he finds the front he’ll run a race. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – PINZU EACHWAY Race 7 DEALING looks like finding the front and if he can do so then this looks a great race for him. Sat midfield which is not really his go last start and was brave in defeat. Jumped well on that occasion but the race had a number of noted speedsters drawn under him. Big improver. UPWARD OTHERS is bursting to win a race. This is as good an opportunity as he is going to get. WITNESS IN COURT looks just about ready after a nice run in the Narrogin Cup. HIGH ENERGY won well last start and should get a similar run. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – DEALING WIN Race 8 PLUTOCRACY has not won for 728 days and that was on debut as a 2 year old but at a new stable, first-up and drawn to lead he looks like taking a fair bit of running down. Trial was soft and his fresh form is very strong. LITTLE FISH simply can not draw a gate in town. Effort behind Carocapo in an incredibly fast run race was enormous. Will need Pateman magic to get in but if he does, watch out. CLASSIC PRO is going great guns this campaign but back to 1200 and in traffic concerns. IT’S NOT TRADING is in career best form. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet – PLUTOCRACY WIN Quad (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,7 2,3,4,5,6 3,6,9 2,5 Market Market
