Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on April 11, 2025April 11, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 WEERAECHOUX arrogantly disposed of a similar line-up last start with 60kg. As a Stakes winning 3-year-old (Belmont Classic) he was really well placed dropping back into a 66+ after contesting a Bunbury Cup and was backed/won accordingly. From the draw he should get an economical run close to the speed and looks a big chance of being too classy again. TARANAKI rolls to the top, stays out of trouble and is a real one paced grinding type. BERNBRAE is working towards the 3100m of the Jericho Cup Qualifier in Albany. ROYAL SPLENDOUR is trying hard. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – WEERAECHOUX WIN RACE 2 AHYEAHRIGHTO did a good job first-up to get within a head of emerging sprinter Amaroo Star. He was first-up, no trial so natural fitness improvement expected, he drops 3kg, is progressive and (hopefully) finds a back to follow into the race. BRAVE STRIKE was all the rage in betting last start and ran an honest second behind Sinful Living without really threatening at any stage. She’s no star but she’s got a barrier to work with. LEXINGTON CITY can box seat and get every favour. SINFUL LIVING has 59kg and for a small filly that could prove troublesome. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – AHYEAHRIGHTO EACHWAY RACE 3 BRAZEN EMPRESS has returned in excellent order and won’t do any work in the run. Won a Westspeed 1200m first-up beating subsequent winner Hymns Of Eladdair and then second-up was only nabbed late by Macchiateau. Lands right place, right time. BOUSSAC will need to find the right back to follow from another trick alley, but if he does then watch for him late. GRAND RESERVE is looking for further than 1500m but he’ll be right up on speed and will keep fighting to the line. LOVA SESSION needs everything to go her way and got that exact scenario last start. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BRAZEN EMPRESS WIN RACE 4 SIXINCH HEELS has been a revelation this preparation. Maiden to C1 to 3 year old Saturday in three back to back to back victories, each as impressive as the next. She’s now 1400m back to 1200m, drawn wide with 59kg so this is her toughest test to date but she’s classy. MAGNA’S CHOICE has only been defeated once and that was in the Placid Ark when huge. AWESOME BOY was three deep the trip, no cover and yet powered into the race when winning in style on debut. MIGHTY HOSANNA missed away last start and that was game over. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – SIXINCH HEELS WIN RACE 5 BE BARDOT was a tough watch last start. She landed 1×1 and travelled into the corner strongly, however, from there onwards it just got uglier and uglier. Trusting her off her first-up run and trusting in William Pike to get her into the three deep moving line and into clear air on straightening. Think she’s a nice mare on the rise so we go again! GAGE ROADS isn’t easy to catch but has been racing well this prep. HENRY THE AVIATOR has been competitive every time Paul Hunter travels him to Perth. AUDIO BOY went well fresh. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – BE BARDOT WIN RACE 6 ELITE BEAU has only won a 2 year old maiden midweek but it was more the manner in which he ambled up to them and the fact that on that particular program nearly every winner thereafter was on speed / close handy. There’s a heap of speed here (Castle Road, Kings Court, Do I Feel Lucky, Swingman, Heaven Specified) so expecting him to go back and wind up late. DELTASON was the first gelding past the post behind a line-up of quality fillies in the Supremacy. His two runs to date have been outstanding. DO I FEEL LUCKY attacks this fresh out of a Pinjarra Magic Millions win. CASTLE ROAD will be fitter and drops 3kg. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ELITE BEAU WIN RACE 7 LUANA MISS returned in a blaze of glory in the Supremacy and has now assumed All-In favouritism for the Karrakatta Plate. She showed she’s got the versatility that potentially her main rival Yes Queen doesn’t and that could be key to victory again. YES QUEEN had to burn too much petrol in the run and was left vulnerable late. Things don’t get any easier for her in the Gimcrack, she’s drawn barrier 13/14 and is drawn outside of Loves Talking and Solar Chant who are both quick. Winkers off to try and help her relax – interesting tactical decisions to be made early. TALKANCO still wants further. WONDERFULLY MADE sneaks up along the fence. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – LUANA MISS WIN RACE 8 JOKERS GRIN really announced himself in the Rock Magic Stakes. We all knew he was good – but that was outstanding. He was held up until the 75m marker and then still won by over 1L (and Pat Carbery never once used the whip). He’ll need to raise the bar again as he heads into WFA company for the first time in his career but it would be no surprise to see him as WA’s best sprinter by the end of this campaign. ROPE THEM IN toyed with them in the Bluff Knoll and like Joker’s Grin is still getting better and better with maturity. COMFORT ME can come out underneath Bravo Centurion and land a wonderful spot. GENEROSITY is dangerous late. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – JOKERS GRIN WIN RACE 9 ELITE MISSILE was super first-up over 1200m when nearly grabbing Shmoov Moova on the post. Second-up under 60kg he sat rearward behind a ridiculously slow tempo and was sectionally impossible from the 800. Love the placement. WITHOUT REG finished third in the Grandstand behind Watch Me Rock and Fluro Neuro who have since run the exacta in the Old Comrade. Flying. TRIO put the writing on the wall two back and won accordingly last start. SIBERIAN SIREN is a versatile mare who can lead or sit from barrier 1. Another genuine winning chance. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – ELITE MISSILE WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,6,9 1,2,3,8 2,7 2,3,4,9 Market Market
