Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on March 28, 2025March 28, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SIXINCH HEELS has returned in outstanding order and while she faces her toughest test to date she’s got a 5kg weight pull and a barrier advantage over her main rival in Elite Missile. Think that she can settle right over the speed and then use her turn of foot to pinch a break on Elite Missile and that makes things really difficult for him. ELITE MISSILE was the ‘be on me next start’ run when he got within a head of Shmoov Moova at 1200m. Weight/map obvious concerns. MEAN MACHINE and SHOOT TO FAME both ran well at Pinjarra last Sunday. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SIXINCH HEELS WIN RACE 2 TAWKIN’ JIBBERISH went ~4.5L quicker same track/same distance/same day at Ascot as AMAROO STAR. It seems as though they’ve figured out that the key to her is the fence and so its fair to assume she’ll be on a mission to cross from barrier 8/8. AMAROO STAR had to do it the tough way last start sitting three deep the trip with 60kg on his back. This race has far more depth but he should be able to stalk the every move of Tawkin’ Jibberish. AHYEAHRIGHTO is a more than capable sprinter resuming without a trial. GOLDEN FIGHTER loves high pressure racing. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – TAWKIN’ JIBBERISH WIN RACE 3 TERRATIF went around $1.28 last start at Bunbury but was never in the hunt. She was caught up in an awkward position in running and over 1690m with 59kg on her back she was simply unable to pick up and sprint. Back in trip, down in weight, forgive, forget and follow off her previous two outings. BOUSSAC is ready to win a race. He was eye catching fresh and then solid second-up. PLAYING QUEST went around favourite ahead of Sail Session in a 60+ Graduation last start and didn’t have any luck/flow. IDYLLIC RULER can run a cheeky race fresh. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – TERRATIF WIN RACE 4 BE BARDOT was enormous first-up. She drew barrier 10/10, settled last, over an distance short of her best trip, had 59kg and wins in another bound. Second-up she drops 2.5kg in weight, draws to get a more economical passage in transit and looks a mare on the rise. Keen to be in her corner here (and in coming weeks). PLAYING GAMES finally broke through last start for a confidence boosting win. She’s got the versatility to use her gate. RED TORI is always there abouts. CORN COB has found a race which he can lead. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – BE BARDOT WIN RACE 5 DEFERRED was below her best last start. She was nearly a month between runs and listening to the post-race interview it seems as though the stable expected her to take great benefit from that outing. Might be looking for 1400m that’s the query but this is winnable on the way through. SIBERIAN SIREN has bounced between 1200 and 1400m for a lot of her career. She can unleash a powerful L600, she can punch forward and set a good tempo. From either position she’s hard to beat. BLUE ROCKET is quickly approaching D-Day. Yet to win since debut as a 2 year old. SILVER EYE was back to his best last start. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – DEFERRED WIN RACE 6 WARRALEA LASS was well found in betting last start when $8 into $4.40 and getting the job done care of a wonderful ride from Shaun McGruddy. She’s a lightly raced staying mare who is working her way through the lower grades and this is a great opportunity to make it a winning hattrick. She’ll slide forward from her wide draw and park up close handy. WEERAECHOUX is dropping out of a Bunbury Cup. Don’t see that very often. Listed 3 year old winner in a 62+. Has to be respected. ROYAL LAW is knocking on the door. TIFF’S LAD will pinch one of these. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 15 Suggested Bet – WARRALEA LASS WIN RACE 7 YES QUEEN is the starting point when it comes to the Supremacy discussion, the Gimcrack discussion and the Karrakatta Plate discussion. She’s a natural – she’s quick, she’s forward and she smashed the clock in the Crystal Slipper. Her recent trials have been anything and she could jump very, very short – opened $2.4, jumps $1.55?. LUANA MISS can roll forward with her and look for a spot. Just not sure anything will have her zip over 1000m. TALKANCO will continue to improve as the distances increase. RIGATONI a watch on debut. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – YES QUEEN WIN RACE 8 BRAVO CENTURION is drawn barrier 3, GINNIVAN is drawn barrier 2. The early speed battle could well determine the outcome of this race. If BRAVO CENTURION can cross Ginnivan and find the fence without burning too much petrol he’s clearly the one to beat. If Ginnivan holds him out then he could be vulnerable to the late swoop of highly exciting sprinter JOKERS GRIN. Going to side up with BRAVO CENTURION as a jump and run 1000m specialist on a hot day at Ascot, but huge respect for JOKERS GRIN who has a L600 few horses in the State possess. SALOON BAR was no match for BRAVO last prep. PREMIUM CHOICE enjoys a soft rails run. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – BRAVO CENTURION WIN RACE 9 SECRET ATTRACTION was enormous first-up and then went got into a wrestling match with her rider second-up. They’ll roll along here between the lightly weighted Our Rocky Bay and the ever-consistent Filthy Habits and that should allow her to park in behind the speed and enjoy a soft run. O’Donnell on first time (eyes emoji). TRIO was jumping out of the ground late last start. The run was good enough for Pike to get off Secret Attraction. DESENNEA travelled too keenly for his own good last weekend. Back in grade off 7 days – watch. ANGEL UNDERCOVER is on trial at 1600m. Numbers: 5 – 15 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SECRET ATTRACTION WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,4,7,11,13,15 1 1,10 1,2,4,5,9,13,15 Market Market
