Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on February 21, 2019February 25, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MINIKA will need to be sharp out of the gates drawn outside of Wildonbrook and Seven Castles but if she can sit in the breeze then she looks the one to beat. Her maiden win was excellent and then she hit the front on a rails out midweeker and was left a sitting duck. SEVEN CASTLES trialed like a horse who would be winning first-up. Will notch up plenty. WILDONBROOK lead all the way to win well last start. FAIRVIEW will flash late if they over cook it. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – MINIKA WIN Race 2 NICCOVI was all the rage in the 2 year old Magic Millions race when hitting the front and looking absolutely home for the money before being gunned down late by the smart Jericho Missile. Leads or box seats and should be winning. PRIM AND PROPER has been out to the paddock since an encouraging start of her racing career. Drawn soft she can position just off the speed and be the danger. SPACEGIRL could be one at odds who gets in under the radar and can run a cheeky race. LET’S ROCK is speedy and should be there a long way. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 13 – 9 Suggested Bet – NICCOVI WIN Race 3 BURNING PRIDE should be afforded every chance in running in a moderate Saturday staying race that has lots of natural speed types. Was thrown into the deep end last start coming out of a C1 win and was no match for rivals. Up to the staying trip the playing field evens. RAYARNIE ran time two starts ago when winning that would suggest he’ll pick up one of these Graduations. DEALING is getting better and better with racing. Won’t lie down and will keep coming. PRESS THE PETAL is the class mare but has a big weight and will be wide or back, or both. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – BURNING PRIDE WIN Race 4 COME PLAY WITH ME is an out and out stayer. His efforts at the shorter trips against race fit and hardened 1200-1600 types have been sound and third up he gets his chance dropping in grade and getting out to his kind of trip. CRYSTAL VALLEY backing up off 7 days and dropping in weight has the turn of foot to win. HE’S A PARKER won well over The Big Show two starts ago and then went well in the Albany Cup in defeat. CORPORATE LARRIKIN a query at the trip but was a big improver last start. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – COME PLAY WITH ME WIN Race 5 FABERGINO is all class. She has only been knocked off once and was a big drifter on that occasion in race which has proven a very strong form reference. She will be short and she is vulnerable: first-up, no trial, 60kg and every chance of being planted three deep the trip. But class can get her home. NIGHT VOYAGE should be winding up in the three deep train and is in career best form. MORE ACES usually grows a leg second-up and should be on speed. MY DEMI again a blow out chance. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – FABERGINO WIN Race 6 CAPPO D’ORO fresh back from the Perth Cup could prove the one to beat. In a race without an obvious leader Pateman could elect to take it up and let the genuine staying type roll from the 800. He can run a big race here. STAR EXHIBIT is the class horse and very well weighted in this race but didn’t get warm until the 2400m last campaign. ELEGANT BLAST is another who rarely runs a bad race and can get it soft three back the fence. LIKE A BUTTERFLY ran a much improved race last start. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – CAPPO D’ORO WIN Race 7 CAROCAPO will be firing across from an outside gate. If he can cross Sir Snugalot it could be game, set, match. If he has to sit outside of Sir Snugalot then he can be run down. Time he ran at Pinjarra suggests he’s back. DAM READY was enormous in defeat. Has been savaging the line and will be flashing at them late. CHESTEN FLYER is going really well and gets the right run for him. STAR GLITTER with no weight can run a cheeky race. Numbers: 11 – 2 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – CAROCAPO WIN Race 8 SPECIAL DELIVERY could have Pateman staring down the barrel of a big day. He is in form, the stable is in form and this grey is flying. His first-up win was enormous and his second-up run was even bigger. Backs up off 7 days, drops in class and if he gets clear running should be going mighty close. RESISTANCE looked the winner in the Pearl Classic at Pinjarra last start. She has hit form and looks the big danger. LOFTY LAD should be allowed to run and 1400m suits him far better than the 1000s. MIDNIGHT SKY will need to be big to win from last. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL DELIVERY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,4,10,11 1,3,4,5,7,8 2,7,11 1,4 Market Market
