Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on January 31, 2019February 4, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FAMILY DISCUSSION has been dealt another bitter blow at the barrier draw and gives Joey Azzopardi a huge headache in the opener. The No Mean Feet form looks the best reference and he was the best run in that race but will need lots of luck here. COMBAT READY is likely to charge forwards and try and find the spot outside the lead. Has been trialing well and showed ability. TRUE IMAGE was three deep the trip first-up and improves out in trip. MIA STELLA blew all chances at the gates last start and now has blinkers reattached. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 14 – 13 Suggested Bet – FAMILY DISCUSSION EACHWAY Race 2 AMARILLO ROSE won well on debut and was put straight away by an astute juvenile yard. Has only had the 400m jump out for her return but looked sharp and runs into a moderate field. VENETIAN JEWEL trialed well but from the outside gate where she ends up is a mystery. WICKLOW PRINCESS is sure to be right in the firing line and won her Belmont trial well. TEE CEE SPIRIT ran around but kept coming in the same trial and gets the fence to help. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – AMARILLO ROSE WIN Race 3 FAIRVIEW was some sort of win last start. The leader was able to walk and then sprint clear into the corner and really should not have been run down. The effort to pick them up was impressive and this looks a lesser field. CAERHELAN was went out a lot shorter in the same race and pulled up with excuses. Pike back aboard and drawn soft, big danger. STARES ANDWHISPERS will charge across from a wide gate to either clear out and lead or pull in the breeze. SNOWCHINO trialed well for her return but may be looking for further. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – FAIRVIEW WIN Race 4 NIGHT VOYAGE should sit just behind the two Grieve runners in front and then if Emma Stent can get him clear coming into the home corner then even under his 61.5kg he looks incredibly hard to toss here. Effort fresh was enormous and his form last campaign is strong. SPEEDING COMET was 3 deep the trip no cover last weekend and looks destined to sit out there again. CAPTIVATED POINT was unable to get clear at any stage in the same race. MACROY will have last crack at them. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – NIGHT VOYAGE WIN Race 5 CAPTAIN STIRLING has gone from a Class 2 to a Graduation and now into a 70+. He finds the front here without challenge and controls the speed. When he quickens into the corner he could sneak away from them. SNOW LORD is a sit and sprint type who needs to draw soft. Gets that here and the Misty Metal form is lengths superior to anything else in this. CANDLELIGHT STAR is not known as a 1000m horse but he is going well. SEEKER will get back and make one sweeping run down the middle. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – CAPTAIN STIRLING WIN Race 6 BEAUCOUNT is a very hard horse to catch but he gets his chance to lead them up here off 7 days. That is exactly what he did last preparation and took a heap of catching. He was a big run last weekend. LAUFEY was enormous fresh and then found traffic at crucial stages last start. He is ready to win. BURNING PRIDE only won a lowly Class 1 race last start but did it with arrogance and smashed the clock. GOLGOTHA should position midfield with cover and was impressive first-up. Numbers: 8 – 14 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – BEAUCOUNT EACHWAY Race 7 MISTY METAL is a star. She is going from strength to strength and nothing in this race looks like turning the tables on her. Fingers crossed she can put on an exhibition again and then hopefully fly the flag for WA over East. BELTER should again hold the front inside of her and run a cheeky race. LOCKROY was flying last preparation and can storm late. ABDICATOR is likely to be gasping for air early and be doing his best late. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – MISTY METAL WIN Race 8 REVEILLE is teasing punters and has been for months. The inside draw is never as advantageous to her as it looks but if she can get some luck from three back the fence deserves to break through. FAIR SONARI is likely to stalk Corporate Larrikin and be the first to hit the front. WESTERN KING looks progressive and expecting him to keep on improving as the distances increase. TIME TO HUNT should get a lovely run forwards of midfield. Stable, hoop and horse all in form. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 13 – 6 Suggested Bet – REVEILLE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,7 1,3,4,6,8,11,13,14 3 2,3,6,11,12,13 Market Market
