The good runs and spaced between a string of very average ones. Loved his recent trial and love the fact Lucy Warwick reunites with him. CASA ROSADA took a while to break her maiden but she has a stack of talent and will take serious beating. PORPHYRIO ran well off the back of a solid trial. BUFF MAN has been racing without any luck in the Great Southern all preparation. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – THE LAST BREEZE EACHWAY RACE 2 OUR IDYLL was good first-up when looming and just looking to run out of condition late in the race. She steps up to a mile here and can race right over the speed. Shaun McGruddy picks up the ride and she can race on the speed and off the speed. If she gets a position she’ll be hard to beat. NORDIC KING was flying at them late in a fast run race behind Resistance at Pinjarra. Drops back in grade and looks very hard to beat. BURNING MAGIC is going pretty well and should get a soft lead. COCKY DODD has the world of ability but can be a little hard to catch. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – OUR IDYLL WIN RACE 3 ALTAMONT doesn’t win out of turn but last start was a ‘be on me next start’ kind of run and this looks a suitable assignment for him. Will get off the speed and that’s the big concern. If they make no ground in the first 2 races then be prepared to jump ship. THAT’S FUNNY AZ went 3L faster than average at Bunbury last start, good strong effort from the front. PINK ‘N’ GRAY was a huge query at a 1400 last start but ran it out well. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ALTAMONT EACHWAY RACE 4 THUNDERBOOM has returned to racing in great form. First-up winner over Mood Goddess who ran a placing in the Natasha Stakes and then minor placings in fast run mile races. Should be rock hard fit and ready to tackle the staying trip. WILD GALAH is always there abouts and from the gate Lucy Warwick can take the box seat. CLEO’S AFTERPARTY can show a sharp turn of foot on her day. MIDNIGHT BLACK broke through last start and no reason why he can’t be competitive here. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – THUNDERBOOM WIN RACE 5 VOLKSWAGON FRANK is just another perfect example of how good Justin Warwick is with battlers that he is able to turn into race horses who go through the grades. Winner two starts ago and last time out was brave in one of the faster run staying races of the last few months. Purple patch of form and looks hard to beat. UNENDING comes from the same race and is knocking on the door. BLACKWOOD RIVER steps up to a staying trip and the real Blackwood River finally showed up last time out. WEE RIPPER a query at the trip but always looked a middle distance type. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – VOLKSWAGON FRANK WIN RACE 6 GREY ENIGMA will have been in a lot of black books this preparation when racing exclusively out of his grade. A 66+, three 72+ and a 78+ and now he drops into a 60+ NMWLY at his preferred trip of 1400. Three starts ago finished within 3L of Yeah Dardy, Sophie’s Song, Al Di La, Festival Miss, Mystery Miss and Lorentinio and two starts ago second to Harry Thomas beating him Lordhelpmerun and Red Publisher. Looks his best chance of the preparation to date. CONFLUENCE is a newcomer to WA but any of the recent runs are good enough to figure in the finish here. RESISTANCE won well last start and really deserved the victory. NEXT STOP THE MOON can always give cheek if finding the front. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – GREY ENIGMA EACHWAY RACE 7 DIGNITY BAY was a galloper that we had to be patient with but last start he showed his turn of foot. Only got out very late once Pateman was able to steer around heels and he finished powerfully. Can make it two in a line. LONDON MISS is only a slightly raced filly but has shown speed and talent. The query is 1200 having done her racing exclusively at 1000m but she has gate speed and from the draw should be in a prominent position just off a relatively genuine tempo. Gets her chance. CELIATORE returns to the races and finds a nice assignment. MELROS BEACH gave some serious cheek last start when ridden for speed. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – DIGNITY BAY WIN RACE 8 DRAMA FREE was never in the race last week. Got back and then never really got warm at all. Draws a gate and going to forgive him and give him one last chance. His runs at Ascot behind Money Matters, Guesteen and Tommy Blue are too good not to be forgiving. FANDAZLE was good in the same race as Drama Free last start and demands respect. MR MT WALKER has always had big chatter around his level of ability. VICTORY SHOT will be short but has nice enough form when last in work. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – DRAMA FREE EACHWAY RACE 9 MIND TRICKS has been impressive at both career outings to date. On debut beaten 5L but behind Son of A God who has won again since and goes round an odds on pop on Wednesday. Last start looked the winner until Dignity Bay finally got out of a pocket. That horse does have above average ability. Drawn sticky but going well. INTERSTATE draws a perfect gate and went close first-up. RETURN A SMILE showed ability as a youngster and now finds a new home with Simon Miller. VITAL IMAGE was never far away as a 2 year old and trialled well. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – MIND TRICKS WIN RACE 10 SON OF A GOD looks like making it back to back W.Pike odds on pops and three wins from three starts this preparation. Was slow away last week and then probably doesn’t win without the Wizard aboard. Wednesday’s race was 1000, this is 1200 but that should only suit him even more. LIL’ RED BIKINI likely comes out running to try and cross them. Capable on her day. DAISHIO is not a weight carrier. Tough for her with 59. NGAWI appreciated racing in C3 company as opposed to C1 as she gets some weight relief and a senior. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SON OF A GOD WIN RACE 11 PASARAN has improved at each outing and as he steps up in trip. Drawn a little awkward but looks likely to roll forward. Alan Kennedy is riding well since his return from injury and last start chased hard from a fair way out. PRETTY FRIAR was the target of support last start and fought on well. That race was 5L slower than average so slight query on the form but would be great to see Shaun O’Donnell boot one home. PHANTOM’S STAR has the ability but does a lot wrong. HOT TICKETTY BOO for novelty players. Numbers: 4- 10 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – PASARAN WIN RACE 12 HE’S ALMIGHTY did a great job first-up chasing Son of a God in what could turn into a great form reference by the time they jump here on Thursday. Last start was set a serious task at 1000m sitting off the track throughout. Stepping to an unknown at 1400 but looks a galloper in the making and it’ll be odds on for Pike in the last on a mammoth 12 race program. NELLY ZANE has been back to trials, she gets off them but has a turn of foot. WORTH A RISK is getting close and continues to jump hard in the market. SMUG NOXIOUS has an X-factor, keep safe.
