Scott Embry’s Monday Narrogin Preview Posted on February 28, 2025March 3, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DESERT EDGE looks to have found a ripper race. He’s dropping into a 46+ at Narrogin, he rolls to the top and he drops back in distance from 2200 to 1900. He can roll along and then start to get them chasing from the 800 and use the hills to his advantage. SHAKERATO has his first outing for new trainer Tricia Roberts. Gets a gun run through. MISS ANONYMITY will look to circle them if the speed comes off. TUSCAN HOLIDAY was a massive improver at Barker last two. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – DESERT EDGE WIN RACE 2 MAID AN OFFER surely goes close to breaking through? Second to Net Zero (since second to WA Oaks bound filly Summer’s Legacy), second to subsequent winner Beejay Boy and now finds himself into a maiden handicap at Narrogin with the same weight on his back as Sue Naylor replaces CJP with ZJP. Great race for him. ABSOLUTE WEAPON ran a really cheeky race under Ava Catarino first-up. Don’t discount. KEGGS LATER was only 2L off them at Geraldton two back. ROYAL GLORY (don’t laugh) is a winning chance. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – MAID AN OFFER WIN RACE 3 QUICK AS SILVER ran well into second behind Geronimo Magic two back and then comes through a race behind Galactic Empire, subsequent winner Fayola Baby and subsequent place getter Aces To Win. Like that form reference – forgetting beaten margin. LE BEAU has traversed the State of WA searching for an elusive maiden win. Bunbury – Albany – Geraldton – Mt Barker – Narrogin. He’s getting very close to breaking through and this race is just as weak as the last few he has been in across the country circuit. MANTA RAY BAY won a trial recently on the Sand Fibre. SCENIC BOOM next. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – QUICK AS SILVER WIN RACE 4 PACIFIC LADY looks placed to win. First-up last campaign resumed off 201 days and one trial at York in a 46+ 1100 and won with 59kg on her back. It’s the identical set up here: one trial, 215 days, 46+, 1100, 59kg. Only two wins have been first-up. This is the time to get her. ELSAS PRIDE has found a really winnable race. She hasn’t won a race since Mack Hall was in Middle School but she’s racing in good order and the My Lovely Pet / Oscar Charlie form out of Barker easily measures up here. BERRY BERRY GOOD has been poor recently. NATURAL SPICE a watch. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – PACIFIC LADY WIN RACE 5 KAZKAZI travels around WA and rarely runs a bad race. This is his grade and he’s a big chance. His last win was this track/distance/grade and in recent runs he’s finished within 4L of Big Swoop in a Mt Barker Cup and run into a local hope in the Geraldton Cup in Butterflyrock. Right race. WARRALEA LASS won a 54+ at Belmont Park over 2100m on a Soft6 in September 2024 so there’s no doubt she can stay and her recent efforts have been sound. LUCKY HEART loves Narrogin. That’s key. ABBOU isn’t consistent but on his day is better than these. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – KAZKAZI WIN RACE 6 COUNT THE LOT looks hard to run down here. Last Sunday at Pinjarra led over 1300m and was run down late by Helluva Goddess, Don’t Trust Judas and Sir Duskin, horses with far more talent than anything she runs into here. 1300m back to 1190 is surely in her favour and expect Chloe Azzopardi will put the foot down and turn it into ‘catch me if you can’ REAL SENOR rates up quite well for a race of this nature. Expecting big improvement. DELTA ANNE has been freshened and comes back in distance. GOOD VIBES is on the quick spin from Wednesday. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – COUNT THE LOT WIN RACE 7 PACIFIC BOXER is an outer provincial specialist. He has finished in the Top 2 on 7 occasions across his career: 5 of those at either Narrogin or York. His last win was a 52+ 1190 at Narrogin, with 62kg, ridden by Brondon Louis when leading and winning. No doubt Gino Poletti has had this race circled on the calendar for a long time and we’ll chime in and hope history repeats. TRIONFANTE was a nice return for a mare heading to Narrogin. PRETTY DEVINE is another Mack Hall runner with claims on the program. MEGA REWARD a watch if there’s market support. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – PACIFIC BOXER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 6,8 1,2,4,6 3,4,5,6,7 1,4,8 Market Market
