Scott Embry’s Friday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 14, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RAPID EYE MOVEMENT has shown ability in town and now makes the journey up the road to Geraldton. Debut run was third in the Crystal Slipper. Hasn’t shown a deal since and her recent trial left a lot to be desired but shades on, drawn 1 and lobs a weak maiden. BEST SUSPECT ran fourth to Midnight Rocket. Expecting that to be the best maiden form reference of the season. BREEAQUA ran well first-up and was solid second-up. FRIAR TUCK went well at his Gero debut. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – RAPID EYE MOVEMENT WIN Race 2 WRITTEN LAW comes from the hot maiden race won by Midnight Rocket. They ran the 1200 over 1L faster than the 70+ horses on the day. Written Law sat on the speed and fought on well into second. CAN’T HELP MYSELF was the one who set that hot speed and should only improve for the outing. OUR MATE BOOTS will be winning a Gero maiden sooner rather than later. Has ability. SCENIC CHARM was good at her first run in Gero. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – WRITTEN LAW WIN Race 3 SADLERS HILLS lumps a big weight with 61 on his back but gains the services of Troy Turner who rides Geraldton better than anyone else. Likely to settle back in the run he’ll make a sustained effort from the 600. HIGHEST REGARD should be suited in the Mid West. He races on speed and controlled to beat two nice animals in Winifer and Sentimental Gift last start. KARNATAKA improved sharply second-up. WOODMANS KEEP was flying late last start. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SADLERS HILLS WIN Race 4 BELLA SCELTA made the step from maiden company up to C2 company well last time out when only nailed in the shadows of the post. Should roll straight to the top, control and take a stack of running down. ITCHY NEE battled on well last start into third placing. FRENCH ESCAPE was the target of big money at his most recent but failed to fire a shot. MYARENA has hit form on the dirt and can run a cheeky race. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – BELLA SCELTA WIN Race 5 MIDNIGHT ROCKET trialed like an absolute beast and didn’t let his loyal followers down in maiden company when bolting in to win by 3L untouched and in slick time. Dashing Image went straight through the grades last season winning horse of the year and expecting Midnight Rocket to follow in his footsteps. FAIR EUGENIE has come back to racing well. DEE TRUMP is honest. REBELLIONAIRE is hard to catch but has ability. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT ROCKET WIN Race 6 M’LADY has grown a leg since joining the stables of Sarah Childs. Her half sister Akiko did exactly the same thing and this one might have even more ability. Looks like crossing down to the fence and should be making it three from three on her way back to Ascot. DASHING IMAGE went well fresh and may have needed the run the way he peaked late. QUALITY FAIR was big first-up and dominant second-up. Veteran in form. MASTER SPLINTER went well fresh and improves with racing. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – M’LADY WIN Race 7 BIG SHOT PADDY is a progressive animal returning to the track first-up. He draws awkwardly but he has a powerful turn of foot which can get him out of trouble. Could be a smoky to get through to a Gero Cup this season and one to follow. FEARHILDI attacked the leader a long way from home and got gassed. Should improve fitness wise. FREEDOM BY CHOICE has his fair share of ability and can run a big race first-up. POLITICS was doing his best late and looks suited up in trip. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – BIG SHOT PADDY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4 4 3 2,4,5,6,11 Market Market
