Second to Stormy Tawny reads up as the best form for this and coming out of a maiden handicap last start means that she drops down 2.5kg in weight. LIBERTY DAME had her first start for Jessica Bain when finished second to Celebrity Prince. Great first start in the region, but the barrier draw makes things very tough for her to go one better here. RAGING BEAUTY is another drawn woefully. They’ll need to roll the dice and look for a spot. KINKY BOOTS will need luck if shuffled back to three back the fence. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – FIRST CONTACT WIN RACE 2 JURUENA GOLD was a long time maiden. How often do you see these types (Bold Prophet, Tiger Move, Mr Fahrenheit, Oddoneout etc etc) finally break through and then go back to back. Troy Turner sticks and no doubt would have had the option to ride Sanabeau. SANABEAU gets out to a mile and drops 1.5kg after the claim for Brayden Gaerth. Potentially ridden too close last start because she didn’t have any turn of acceleration in the back end of the race. Maiden win was impressive. VANMAN has been around the mark without winning one all preparation. SECRET LAIR an improver back in trip. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – JURUENA GOLD WIN RACE 3 WESTOZI was 35 days between runs at 2125m in 70+ company when finishing a narrow second to Egg White. Then went back to 1400m and was only beaten 2.5L by the undefeated Shaka Zulu. This is a great middle ground for him – 58+ 1900. Nice 3 year old. ALL IN RED should really well suited back into a country ratings race. Two starts ago was only 2L off Catch These Hands and Mack Mack who have since run the quinella in a 3 year old 62+ and then went to the Geraldton Cup. Back in trip, back in grade. IHTS CLOSING INN won like a filly who would make her way through the grades on Cup Day. BILLY JACK can roll to the top. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – WESTOZI WIN RACE 4 ASK AN ANGEL won a maiden and a C2 in her first Geraldton preparation, a C2 and a 58+ in her second preparation and then this time in has been fair when beaten 3L in a 58+ behind Justhandy and then 3L by Arabian Riches and Bombay Style in a 70+. Should be ready third-up. JUSTA LIL FAITH is having her 13th run of the preparation. Amazingly long campaign for a filly but as Julia Martin has done with Corn Cob/Bombay Style/Bold Prophet, they don’t seem to train off. THE WITCH DOCTOR is a lovely consistent mare for this grade. She’s never far away and chased hard at Albany. ADMIRAL HUSSON sneaks back into this grade and can give serious cheek. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – ASK AN ANGEL EACHWAY RACE 5 COPPING POINTS has now run second at three of his last four. He’s clearly ready to pinch one and he was the closest to Classic Encounter last start on Cup Day and she looks like a city filly in the making. Gets another chance. BIDAYA is quick and can be in front for a long way. She drops 3kg on her last start effort where she was popular in betting. BOLD PROPHET won a maiden after many, many attempts at Dongara and then went back to back. All things considered held his own at Ascot last Saturday in a 60+ Graduation 1000m scamper. GLASS OFF a blow out hope. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – COPPING POINTS WIN RACE 6 MOMBASA was the eye-catching run of the day at his first start in the region for Tony Scally. He’s a natural backmarking type but if he can park in the three deep line here and stay out of trouble, he certainly has a big finishing sprint on him. PATCHWORK has put in two rippers since joining Willie Parker. Another who needs luck from a tricky alley. Could well turn into a three deep cover type event. ROCKY PATH isn’t an easy mare to catch but can sprint well fresh if the gaps appear at the right time for her. JUSTHANDY won well two starts ago and can find the top. Numbers: 8 – 10 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – MOMBASA WIN RACE 7 PASSPORT won back to back 70+ 1400m events at Geraldton in January/February this year. One of them (23 Feb) was off a 29 day spacing, the exact same gap between runs that he attacks this off. His defeat last start was dropping back to 1200m and he now meets Arabian Riches again but at a much more suitable trip. Looks a great race for him. ARABIAN RICHES didn’t win a race for over 1000 days. Watching his last two wins you have to wonder how? Great to see him back winning again. JUPITER RISING is honest and consistent and never far from the winner. BOMBAY STYLE is a ripper. 15th run of the campaign and still going strong. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PASSPORT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,5,7,8,9,11,12 1,3,7,8,12 1,2,4,6,7,8,9,10 3 Market Market
