Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on February 12, 2025February 12, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 UNCOMPROMISED v TRUE CHANCE is one of the country clashes of the season. One a proven 70+ type with 61.5kg and the other an emerging star with 55.5kg. In the end going to side up with the progressive TRUE CHANCE and suggest that he can topple UNCOMPROMISED here with a 6kg pull in the weights. Fascinating clash. UNCOMPROMISED steps up 600m in distance and is up to 61.5 on his back. If he’s vulnerable it’s here. Big chance come Cup Day. WHEATSTACK THIEF won well last start. KALLAROO – no words. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – TRUE CHANCE WIN RACE 2 FLINDERS LANE simply went too slow in front last start. First 600m was 14L slower than average and then she couldn’t sprint away from her rivals who were right on top of her in the home straight. Can win this. BOUTIQUE SESSION did run third on the grass at Kalgoorlie beaten 2L by Right To Silence back in March 2024 before joining the Barton – Altieri operation and heading North to race on the dirt at Derby, Broome and Newman. The fact Simone rides over Tra La La could be a big indicator. TRA LA LA was unsuccessfully plunged at her stable debut. ULTIMATE PARADISE shouldn’t be a maiden too much longer. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 11 – 8 Suggested Bet – FLINDERS LANE WIN RACE 3 FLOPPY is ready to win. He won 7th up and 8th up back in March 2024 so considering this is his fifth run of the campaign he looks to be closing in on peak form and peak fitness. The way Helen Harding’s yard is going at the minute I’m happy to pull the trigger a start early and more than happy to follow the True Chance form through. ELITE FIGHTER won back to back races to start the preparation and then hasn’t been disgraced his last two. WEST COAST WARRIOR deserved that win last start. 5 runs for Gary Burger – never missed top 2. HABIB is there abouts. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLOPPY WIN RACE 4 DUBAI’S DAUGHTER has won three from three since arriving in Esperance and looks destined to return to Perth at the end of her preparation. She’s coming up significantly in grade but does get 2kg off her back and does look to settle right over the speed and be afforded every chance. PEARLY NUGGET is going to be a very nice country mare. CHOIXWAY has thrived in the care of Anthony Barton and has plenty more wins ahead. DAWN AMNESTY is flying and can wind up with a strong L600. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – DUBAI’S DAUGHTER WIN RACE 5 ZEBEDEE SPRINGS could not have been more impressive at her first start for new trainer Justin Alexander Robins. She burst through under Casey Hunter, won by 1.75L and stopped the clock 3.5L faster than average. Should only improve into the campaign and could be the next Pedal Power. FAVAIOS has turned a corner. Strong winner last start and looks a big danger here. DANCING CHOOSE did a lot wrong at his J.F.L.Brown debut but still ran well. CHARCOAL CHAOS put in a much improved run last start. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – ZEBEDEE SPRINGS WIN RACE 6 SURE THING made an impression at his WA debut leading and winning by an extending 5L margin. Rises 1kg, rises 200m and draws wide but off that performance you would think he’s going to be working his way through the grades rapidly in the region. Most impressive maiden win of the season to date. DEMETRIOUS has Simone so again – that’s likely a big indicator? UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY is awkwardly caught in between grades. Starting to think he may be better suited up in grade to get some weight relief. MAYBEE has been honest since arriving with Helen Harding. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SURE THING WIN RACE 7 HILTON is back. First-up win was strong, second-up win was better and with runner-ups (plural) Dawn Amnesty and Wheatstack Thief both winning at their next outings it makes him an obvious standout. See no reason why he can’t win again. SOME SORT is rapid and is starting to show a bit more fight. ROGUES POINT drops back 400m in distance and went too slow for his own good last time out (first 1000m run 16L slower than average). DEBONNAIRE isn’t the same horse we saw in Kalgoorlie. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – HILTON WIN RACE 8 RED WITH TED comes through the True Chance / Floppy form race and that’s one I’m happy to pop all the eggs in the same basket and cross our fingers that it’s the right one. He’s back in grade from a 58+ into a C2, he’s a claiming apprentice to Tash Faithfull, he’s from the form yard of the region and he’s drawn to get every chance. Last win was a C2 2000. Ticks all the boxes as a bet. SMALL TOWN RUBY is racing well and gets a soft run in transit. MY BOY EDDY has promised to win one for a long while. MINOR DETAIL is one paced. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – RED WITH TED WIN Market Market
