Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 30, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RUN FOR A REASON has been a bit of a frustrating commodity this preparation running some big races without saluting the judge. This is another great chance. SALTY will find this 10L easier than the Broome Sprint and if he can keep up with them early will be hard to hold out. GRESHOM should fire straight to the front and take catching. SASSE DE BLISHK is a talented type who can bounce back. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – RUN FOR A REASON WIN Race 2 EXEXCEL was attacked a long way from home at her only start in Broome. She is a speedster who is really a 1000m commodity. Finds the front here, runs and should prove too classy. LADY TALENT is drawn to sit right on the back of the likely leader. DAM LUCKY could end up three back the fence which is a concern but is going well. CARDINAL HERO is drawn out so winds up deep the trip. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – EXEXCEL WIN Race 3 FAITH IN FATE has been a revelation this preparation winning his past three in complete style. If he can hold up from the inside it looks game, set, match. WELL SPOKEN MAN will give him a bit of cheek. Very speedy and is rock hard fit for this. Attacks a long way from home. NET PROFIT is a Carnarvon specialist. Gets back in the run but charges late. If they over cook it in front then the race is set up. SPIRIT CENT looks the best of the remaining runners. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – FAITH IN FATE WIN Race 4 ACTIVATE ME should be improved after having a start on the dirt and that race should hold up as a form reference. They ran serious time for a maiden. MASCHERANO was good in the same race and is drawn to box seat behind the speed. STAR MAGNET was a brave run when you look at the early sections. Simply got ran off its legs. STAY SWEET has run a few nice races in its maiden dirt career. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – ACTIVATE ME WIN Race 5 DIAMOND JOLSON has hit a purple patch of form and from the inside gate Renee Forrest has options. She is riding very well at the minute and we’ll back her in to make the right decisions. GLOWING ROCK has been impossible to follow this campaign but with the right run has a big finish. JUENDIS carries a big weight from a horror draw but has been going great guns. PORTRAIT LAO is yet to run a bad race and should finish in the money again. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND JOLSON WIN Race 6 FERNGROVE really hit form at the end of the Broome season. Only a small galloper but has shown previously that weight can be carried. Only needs to hold form to go close here. TOM ALMIGHTY finally broke through for a well deserved win. Peter Hall off is a big negative when looking at the form guide. FARALON is drawn awkwardly but definitely going well enough to win this. O’REILLY’S CRUMPET dug deep to win impressively last start. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – FERNGROVE WIN Race 7 REGAL HONOUR is always a safe eachway investment in races like this. The old boy rolls forward until he finds the front and then kicks into the corner. BOLSHOI BANDIT has run some nice races in the outer dirt circuit. Actually looks quite well placed and weighted in this grade when you weigh up the overall form. ANDREINI finished off the Broome season well and should wind up three deep. PIGEON POST would be a sharp improver if he found the top from the inside. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 13 Suggested Bet – REGAL HONOUR EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,7,9 1,2,3,9,10 1,3,5,7,10 1,2,4 Market Market
