Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on September 17, 2020September 17, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PRINCESS LILYTESS was 7 weeks between runs last time out and ran a solid third to Shivers of Joy and Miami Moon. Should enjoy all the favours from the draw and gets a great chance to break her maiden at the closing meet of the season. MIAMI MOON continues to race well and beat home Princess Lilytess last time out. Nearly leads them up too. FAIR FORCE didn’t fire a shot last Saturday but with the weight relief is worth forgiving. OLD TOWN PREDATOR eye catching at his last two and now a senior goes on. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS LILYTESS WIN RACE 2 GREYWOLF couldn’t have done any more in the Carnarvon Sprint when getting within a length of Premio Momento and charging late. Only goes up 2kg for the huge drop in grade and off the quick back-up he looks the one. Better suited drawing wide than drawing inside with his race pattern. MYTHICAL TRUST is a wonderful old warrior. Start 96 as a 10 year old and 12th run of the preparation. Still going super and another winnable race. LORD KRONOS had his first start on the dirt and ran really well in the Sprint. THE CHORISTER always a chance in this grade. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – GREYWOLF WIN RACE 3 SWANKY LASS has really turned a corner in the last month. Won well at Junction and then backed it up last week when chasing hard behind talented stablemate King of Planets and beating home Urban Girl. That should be the strongest form in the race. DAM LUCKY ran out of his skin last start and on the quick back-up is a legitimate danger if he can reproduce. KNUCKLE DOWN is going well. WOODBUG was good three and two starts ago. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – SWANKY LASS WIN RACE 4 REBELLIONAIRE stays at 1000m but resumed in a 68+ and drops into a C3 here. Up sharply in weights but there is no Jelani Express, Premio Momento, Kramden, Abu Dhabi or Klondike Kenny in this field. If he can reproduce his first-up run then he should take a lot of beating in this moderate line-up. CARMURLEA is jump and run. She’ll give them all something to chase but be paddling last 50m. FAMILY DISCUSSION has his first start for the Evans team and his metro/provincial form is strong. QUIRINDI went close earlier in the preparation and must be considered. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – REBELLIONAIRE WIN RACE 5 RETRIBUTION didn’t fire a single shot last weekend in a bitterly disappointing performance. Madi Derrick jumps back aboard and in her three rides on him he couldn’t have been more impressive. The pre-race ear muffs which were removed last weekend are immediately reinstated and we’ll forgive him for one poor performance. Leads and should take running down. URBAN GIRL has been a great pick up for Catherine Godden’s team and continues to race extremely well. KLONDIKE KENNY won well last weekend and no reason he can’t do it again. FERNGROVE took a while to find his groove but is going well now. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – RETRIBUTION WIN RACE 6 MAJORAS MASK, JENABEL and ANDRIENI are coming out of the Carnarvon Cup which is far and away the best form in the race. MAJORAS MASK was the best run of them in the Cup and from the gate he can hold a position just behind the speed. Brilliant pick-up ride for Victoria Corver and if she can keep him off the fence and in the first 5/6 he should do the rest. JENABEL is far better suited at 1700m than she was last start at a mile. Danger. ANDRIENI isn’t suited to being back in traffic. He can improve sharply. SHREWD GAMBLE gets weight relief and is going well. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet – MAJORAS MASK WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,6 2,3 1,2,3,4,7,8 2 Market Market
