Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 13, 2020August 13, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 KRAMDEN was leading up races at Ascot only four months ago and even on a Saturday Graduation race in the process. Won a race at Kojonup on the dirt with 72kg and has won races on the dirt in the upper North West. If Kristo Sardelic finds the front he’ll take real running down. MYTHICAL TRUST is a fool proof on the dirt. He’ll jump cleanly and he’ll hold a position. Went very close last start with weight. TOO CLEVER has his first start for a new yard and first start on the surface. DANEFIN is using this as a barrier trial on route to the Carnarvon Cup. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – KRAMDEN WIN RACE 2 DERULES went very close last start and looked the winner turning for home when Hopwood sent her clear but was run down in the shadows of the post. Hopefully she can lead this race and then control proceedings. Not a lot between the top few and she looks a live hope. EMPIRE KHAN has put in two good runs since joining Peter Daly and Snaggers Sardelic is starting to build a following. FAIR FORCE brings alternate form references and will be a great pick-up ride for someone. Definite winning chance and could be forgotten in the market. URBAN GIRL ran well on debut and should only improve for the outing. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 9 – 11 Suggested Bet – DERULES WIN RACE 3 HAIL DA HINCHI won extremely well first start on the dirt at 1000m. The further he goes the better he is likely to get so stepping to 1200m should suit him. Will get off them but the middle of the Carnarvon surface has been the place to be all season. Looks like going through the grades for Peter Daly. PREMIO MOMENT and GREYWOLF were in a strong clash last start and there was little between them. Should be right alongside each other in the run again and meet at equal weights. SWEET TALKIN gets some weight relief after a below par performance last start. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – HAIL DA HINCHI WIN RACE 4 CATCHING SHADOWS won well last start and the time was very impressive. That has held up as a form reference with horses in the beaten brigade running well at subsequent starts. Is now 6 weeks between runs but likely to punch forward from the draw and sit right over the speed again. ENACTMENT was $12 into $5.50 last start and narrowly missed with many a punter’s heart breaking on course. Finds it tough to win but in very good form and another winnable race. INDRIEL comes back to the sprint trip and that could be an astute move by a smart stable. CARMURLEA is jump and run. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – CATCHING SHADOWS WIN RACE 5 REUCOOP could not have done any more in defeat last start. Was conceding them a huge head start and was rattling to the line. Again drawn wide but if Victoria Corver can keep him within 5L of the leading brigade at the 600m then he’ll be awfully hard to hold out. JUPITERS SUN has always shown glimpses of ability and Glen Cortes seems to be getting the best out of him. He’ll roll forward from the wide gate and Hannah Fitzgerald is handling him perfectly. TOMMY TO JACK is always a blow out chance if he can lead. MYBAK is going well and is very consistent. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 14 – 6 Suggested Bet – REUCOOP WIN RACE 6 MADRID CENTRO has been the find of the season (well equal with Danefin) but Ray Malpass has him racing extremely well. Unlike Danefin he is still going through the grades and rather than clash his two stable stars before Carnarvon Cup day he has split them up with Danefin going back to the 1000 and Madrid Centro left here to beat up on the 68+ horses. The most scary thing about his recent wins is that his last 200m is typically his fastest furlong split. GLORYLAND is no slouch and a winner of a Broome Cup. Great to see him recapture some form last start. BALLIDU BOMBER continues to run honest races. SALAMAAT an improver. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – MADRID CENTRO WIN RACE 7 SKY ATLAS is building towards another win and Peter Daly has his team on fire. Looks like having the two main chances in the race and stepping up to 1400m and back to 56+ grade looks two massive positives for Sky Atlast. From the draw he just needs to step cleanly to hold a position and he’ll prove hard to beat. RHINO’S LAD is likely to jump from the outside and attempt to cross. If they let him find the fence they’ll struggle to catch him. GLOWING ROCK put in a ripper last start and she can hold form. NOBEL IMAGE ran her best race on the dirt last start. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SKY ATLAS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,5,6,7 2,3 5 2,3,8 Market Market
