Scott Embry’s Friday Albany Preview Posted on November 3, 2022November 3, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ATHLONE CASTLE had been going incredibly well over the 1000m at Belmont Park. Over the last few months has finished within 4L of the following genuine 60+ Graduation Saturday types: Thomas Magnum, Ghost Who Walks, State Of Power, Pixie Chix, Cash Away, Olga Louisa. Sits back and comes hard late. LACEVINSKY has 62kg to contend with but is two from two at Barker. Was always mapped to endure a horror run last start. DARK ASSAULT can bounce back quickly. CLASSIC MAGNUS is never far from them. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – ATHLONE CASTLE WIN RACE 2 PENNED finished fourth behind Work In Progress, One Cool Gal and Diamond Command in a 2 year old trial at Belmont back in May before splitting handy duo Lot Ho and Work IN Progress again over the 1000. Has had two trials to prepare him for his debut and this looks winnable. LITTLE SILVER clearly has ability but is doing a lot wrong at the minute. Has raced ungenerously in the both his career outings. The debut run was less than 4L from Laced Up Heels. Don’t discount. OUR BONNY GOSSIP is quick. No surprise to see her set on a jump and run mission. ROSE OF DENMARK ran well enough behind Ruling Dame and Red Hot Goods. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – PENNED WIN RACE 3 EX SPORT GIRL is an addition from the Barker meeting transferred to Albany and changes the complexion of the race completely. Finished second to Upper Limits, finished third to Swim Through and then finished second to Rusty Dreams. Just needs an ounce of luck from a wide draw to be winning. ST JOHN has joined the yard of Sam Faithfull recently and last year her strike rate was phenomenal. Only 1.4L off Village Girl, Amelia’s Trust last start. Measures up. NO ACTION went around a $6.50 chance on debut in a 2 year old maiden when finishing 4L off Lord Gannicus (now a C1 & C3 winner). VITAL FRIENDSHIP another addition to the race adding depth. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – EX SPORT GIRL WIN RACE 4 HARMIKA has raced well and truly below her best this preparation. Adam Durrant’s yard is back in form and if she produces anywhere near the run that saw her beat Otheroneson she’s the one. BIRD’S THE WORD was gifted a race at York, finished behind Major Max and subsequent winner Swim Through in a 3 year old 0MWLY and then was held up at crucial stages last start. HEAR ME SING was going round behind Trix Of The Trade last year in the Breeders Classic, Challenge, Lex Piper etc. Note that he is an acceptor for Saturday at Ascot so could come out. GETYOURMONEYANDRUN has been a model of consistency this preparation. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – HARMIKA WIN RACE 5 LUVACHAT will do his best over further in time, however, he has some real X-Factor about him. Really like the fact that Roy Rogers hasn’t taken him to trials because he looks like the kind of horse who can go through his grades this preparation. Parked in behind them and poised to pounce. NIGHTS MYSTERY will be looking to find the fence. Comes right back into a C1 after being competitive in higher grade recently. Hard to beat. DOUBLE THUMBS UP is quite quick and should be there for a long way. PADDY’S ART finally broke through at Collie. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – LUVACHAT WIN RACE 6 COSMOPOLITAN GIRL is being placed to absolute selection by Team Pearce (again). Maiden, C1, 46+, C3 and now a 58+. Understand heading to the 3 year old Classic when she was well out of her weight division to try and pinch one but this is her grade and she’ll be extremely popular. Straight to the front and keep kicking. TALES OF MANHATTAN loomed alongside her at Northam and wasn’t far from her in the finish. Logical danger. TREVELLO drops into a 58+. Nice placement. AYASHA is always a blow out chance in this grade. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – COSMOPOLITAN GIRL WIN RACE 7 FINAL AUTHORITY finished second in a 52+ at Belmont to Acefire and then finished second to Capricorn Man in a C1 1200 at Ascot. This looks a lovely middle ground between those two races, a Country C2. Drawn to get the run of the race, versatile and relatively talented. Nice race for him. HENRY THE AVIATOR ran a big race at Ascot behind Above The Peg after transferring from Paul Hunter to David Harrison. Returns home and trialled super. ELITE FIGHTER is well placed and can sprint well fresh. PRINCE RAGNAR was a work in progress. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – FINAL AUTHORITY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4,8,9 2,3 1,3,4 3,4 Market Market
