Scott Embry’s Friday Albany Preview Posted on May 5, 2022May 6, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BILLY RAY has his first start for Adam Durrant and all of a sudden the Peters Investments numbers are back on show. Big book for Adam Durrant & Clint Johnston-Porter and expecting Billy Ray to take beating fresh. Really well placed in to a c70+ and should track up behind them and prove too strong late. Is a 60+ Graduation winner in town. POLICIERE is in an awkward part of her career but the Pearce Brothers seem to have found a nice race for her here. Only 55.5kg and able to have a senior on. Should lead and roll. KENDELS MEE DAD rarely runs a bad race. MORGS FREEMAN loomed the winner last start but couldn’t get past Lacevinsky. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – BILLY RAY WIN RACE 2 CATEGORY THREE is an Xtravagant filly on debut for Peters Investments and her recent trial win suggests that she’ll take a power of beating on debut. Drawn in barrier 1 so provided the fence is still the place to be (has been the last three meetings) then she should track up in behind them and prove too classy. Looks like she will get a soft kill on debut and head back to town. JALINDA BAY went past Hot Tonic first-up but was soft in the last 50m when fought off. Might be her. LE WREN was plunged in betting last start and ran alright. RIBBING had nothing go right fresh and still finished off really hard. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – CATEGORY THREE WIN RACE 3 ARTIE’S COMET is going really well late in the SW season. Winner of a 58+ two starts back and then finished only 1L off subsequent winners Little Punga and Ginger Green. Looks the right form reference and Brad Rawiller knows him now. Drops 1kg and should get a lovely run throughout. Proven on wet tracks if the rain is still around which is a bonus. GIFTED WARRIOR has been hard following the last couple. He’s clearly going well enough to win but the last two times he has raced he has struck a heavily leader dominated program. BRAVE CONTENDER finally broke through last start. BENTLEY’S BROTHER could bob up at odds. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – ARTIE’S COMET WIN RACE 4 EFREET was the target of astute late money last start at an eachway quote. Has always shown glimpses for a maiden and Brad Rawiller going on really catches the attention. Kind of horse who needs to wind up from a fair way out and should be suited to his style of riding. Could well be his day. MONEY FOR MUSIC was alright on debut and then struck a far deeper provincial maiden than what he meets here. Might still need further. BONAMICO can roll to the top and control. ODDONEOUT almost stole it last start. Would have loved to have seen her fall in to reward Tash Faithfull for the mid-race move. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – EFREET WIN RACE 5 PASSION PRINCE has only had two starts in his life. On debut he went around even money and took every bit of William Pike to lift him over the line to beat Dais (who went on to have a great little campaign and make the form look good) and then he was thrown into the Listed Fairetha Stakes at only start number two a month later. Recent trial was good enough and he might have some upside. ORISTANO is getting closer and closer and now comes back in grade to a C2 after going round favourite in 58+ company recently. PRINCE RAGNAR will appreciate it being 1100m and can find the front here. LE GRAND AMOUR has raw ability. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – PASSION PRINCE WIN RACE 6 OXBRIDGE is the way we’ll go to cause a mini upset with Mystery Moment likely to be short in this. Win two starts ago was strong (albeit a Pingrup win) and then he backed it up with a solid third behind Little Punga and Ginger Green. Hopefully that form is further enhanced thorugh Artie’s Comet earlier in the day and with fitness on his side he might be able to get the job done. MYSTERY MOMENT will have plenty of followers, especially if by Race 6 CJP and Adam Durrant have dominated the program. She showed big potential in her early career and is still a 3 year old filly with plenty of wins in her. Likely to get a fair way back. LONG KNIFE BROTHER is hard to catch but on his day he’s more than capable. ATHLONE CASTLE was the beneficiary of a 10/10 from Safari Dyson last start. Tougher from out there. Numbers: 9 – 12 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – OXBRIDGE EACHWAY RACE 7 SNIPPAGEM has to lump 60kg to get the job done but that’s the only real knock on this filly. Second two starts ago to Ginger Green who has now won in town and ten third in a 60+ Graduation behind My Mate and The Velvet Queen. Drops back into a C2 in Albany and should find the front. Winner off 6 days, winner off 4 days and placed off 6 days. Ticks plenty of boxes. REBEL MAN continues to race well. He’s one paced and needs the race to unfold in his favour. KING KASHOO will get back and be doing his best late. BELGRANO BELLE an improver with shades on first time. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – SNIPPAGEM WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,6,7 1,2,3 7,9,12 2,4,7,9 Market Market
