RACE 1

Keen YOUMZAA for the Laurie stable, good debut setting the speed and run over by a smart one, drier track is a positive and every chance a soft lead. VOLTRIX has jumped out well enough to be winning on debut for the Hayes stable, has been getting back and running on, need to be closer on race day to run down. AVERY ANNA has been busy at the jumpouts and is in the mix. FIRST ACT is hard to line up, market best friend.

RACE 2

Two leading chances come through a hot form race at Bendigo, TRUE REBEL launched home at 1300m and the rise in distance is the natural progression. MENESS was a jumpout star at Cranbourne and fought gamely in defeat first-up, he has the tactical advantage over the local and Mark Zahra from a good draw, he was my pick of the two. TOP RICH is a former kiwi debuting for Clayton Douglas, hard to recommend as a winning hope, deserves some respect. RISING NINE TOP for the top stable is now third-up blinkers on, blinkers doing the heavy lifting.

RACE 3 – Best Value

PLATINUM PEARL was well-backed at Seymour as was the winner and they paired off, again a strong winning chance with the firm track racing on-speed, leads this with STAR JE TAIME the local, debuted on a heavy in the G3 Breeders and poor. Three jumpouts, goes forward, big chance to improve. STIPULATION is ready to win, can settle in behind and get last crack at the speed. AUTUMN DEEL was ok on debut, one for the multiples.

RACE 4

Good race, some talent on display, CONQUER THE WORLD was impressive in defeat at Seymour and a rise in distance can only benefit, tricky draw, speed should be strong enough if he’s good enough. Like what SO ROYAL has been doing at the jumpouts, ideally-suited at this distance first time out but does strike a good race, could push forward from the draw. Waller has two runners, engaged, both can roll forward, WHITEBAIT won a 1000m heat at Flem and has D Lane, respect. The other TANABATA resumes, needs to have improved.

RACE 5 – Wildcard

A number of speed runners engaged. WINNING TOAST can run a race 2nd up, looked good at the jumpouts and found the speed too slick over 1000m on the Ballarat poly. Up in distance with another strong tempo bringing home, not hopeless in an open race. CUSHIONED should sprint well fresh, after going ok at the jumpouts to resume for A & S Freedman, draw sets up nicely for him to be closing off. CYBER LINK has been just fair in two runs despite support in betting, back in grade may be the key. SUMALUV not out of this rising in grade.

RACE 6

Eurell stablemates bring good recent form this BM78 over the staying trip, DRAGOON likely leader, CHIHULY has been settling closer and gets the nod over this 2400m, BIRATU was well-supported at Seymour and gets Craig Williams for this first attempt at this distance, sure to be positive and looks a key threat. BLACK PEPPERMINT has a firm deck to be at his best, he was ordinary last starts and needs to lift.

RACE 7 – Best Bet

JUST DESSERTS was backed as if unbeatable on debut at Pakenham and failed from the front, faultless since and a positive racing style to compliment the ace draw, expect him forward, the horse to beat. Best of the day. KING CAMELOT can run a race at odds, has been mixing his pattern, Meech rides, should be on-speed, Preusker stable on a heater. RICH KING won an ordinary race 2nd up, some talent, still does plenty wrong. STAY HUMBLE lands a pair off the front, Maher & Johnstone a winning combination.

RACE 8

IT’S A YES still holds a place in the race despite racing at Warrnambool without luck on Monday, quick back-up perhaps, wouldn’t put it past the stable to pull it off successfully.  Good draw, leading chance if he takes his place. SEA POEM on a firm track is a positive, she’s been in and out but kept in work, just fair from the rear at Sandown, capable of sharp improvement. ARABELLA STAR jumped out well but was ordinary first-up, she too can improve sharply as she’s done previously. SUN DEVIL goes ok fresh, need support for the local.
