Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 5, 2022May 5, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 PIERRE WHITBY (1) has been unplaced at his last three starts but gets his chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle tonight. He led throughout from this draw back in March and can do likewise here. BETTOR BE LIVELY (12) ran a nice 2nd to Vespa three starts back and a similar effort would see him right in the finish here. BILLY MACK (11) is now drawn to trail the favourite and looks a good place chance. ROCK ME OVER (9) is the class runner of the field but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 1 12 11 9 Suggested Bet: PIERRE WHITBY (1) to win. Race 2 DISTINGUISHED TASTE (1) led throughout here two starts back and then had to do too much work when he knocked up to finish 7th at his last start. He should enjoy a softer lead tonight and is clearly the one to beat. ARMA EINSTEIN (6) has been racing well in stronger company and should be in the finish. VALENTINES BROOK (8) drops considerably in class on his last start 5th but has a tough draw to overcome. WILL I ROCKNROLL (7) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last two starts and is always dangerous with the right run. Tips: 1 6 8 7 Suggested Bet: DISTINGUISHED TASTE (1) to win. Race 3 RAGAZZO MACH (6) is a classy customer who has won ten of his 19 career starts. His recent trials indicate that he is still short of his best but he should give a great sight. BEAT CITY (3) worked to the front and won in 1.56.3 here last week and a repeat performance would make him hard to beat. VESPA (5) is racing consistently and could be the one finishing over the top of the two favourites if they go to war. ONE FOR DAVE ANDME (1) is drawn to get the run of the race and could sneak into a place at odds. Tips: 6 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: RAGAZZO MACH (6) to win. Race 4 IDEAL AGENT (7) has won three of his four starts this time in and has shown that he can overcome wide draws. He is the class runner of the field and is clearly the one to beat. POWER AND GRACE (1) has led throughout to win two of his last three starts and will give them something to catch if he holds up at the start. TYPHOON BANNER (2) was an impressive last start winner and should play a part from his nice draw. BLITZEMBYE (5) won his last three starts before going for a spell but is drawn awkwardly for his return. Tips: 7 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: IDEAL AGENT (7) to win. Race 5 ELDAYTONA (3) has won five of his past six starts and looks a good chance to find the front and prove hard to beat again. WOODLEA RAGNAR (1) ran 3rd to Vultan Tin in the Narrogin Cup before running on well here to finish 4th last week and will make his presence felt from the pole. THE CODE BREAKER (10) disappointed when 4th to ELDAYTONA (3) after leading at his last start but will enjoy a soft trip tonight and can be dangerous. STAMFORD (5) is drawn awkwardly but is a promising pacer who can’t be overlooked. Tips: 3 1 10 5 Suggested Bet: ELDAYTONA (3) to win. Race 6 VULTAN TIN (1) couldn’t get into the race from a wide draw at his last start but looks the leader here and should prove hard to catch. TO FAST TO SERIOUS (3) has been placed at his past two starts from wide draws and will settle closer and be charging home tonight. DOUBLE UP (6) has gone to a new level with impressive victories in similar fields at his last two starts and must be considered despite the wide draw. BABYFACE ADDA (2) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and is always dangerous with the right run. Tips: 1 3 6 2 Suggested Bet: VULTAN TIN (1) to win. Race 7 SAVVY BROMAC (1) has a losing sequence of seven but her recent efforts have been full of merit and she appeals as the one to beat from the pole. BOORAA (10)) has won three of her last four starts in weaker company and is drawn to get the run of the race trailing the favourite. NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (3) steps up in class tonight but her times indicate that she will make her presence felt. BORN TO BOOGIE (7) has proven to be as good as any mare in the state and was an impressive 1.55.9 winner at her last start but is drawn poorly. Tips: 1 10 3 7 Suggested Bet: SAVVY BROMAC (1) to win. Race 8 DOC HOLLIDAY (9) has finished just behind the placegetters in stronger company at his last three starts but will be hard to beat here if he can stay in front of his main rival. GLENLEDI CHIEF (10) is giving his main rival a 10m start but he resumed with an impressive win and looks the obvious danger. TWOBOB CRACKER (1) is a reliable stand performer who ran 2nd to Ideal Agent here recently and will play a part from the pole. GEE SMITH (4) loves the stand and has been placed in 12 of his last 14 starts. Tips: 9 10 1 4 Suggested Bet: DOC HOLLIDAY (9) to win. Race 9 SPY MAJOR (1) led throughout from this draw at his last start and looks the one to beat despite the rise in class. MISS MUCHO (6) hasn’t handled the stand in her last three starts but her previous mobile form was very strong and she looks a major player. MIDDLEPAGE (2) has been battling bad draws of late but can sit behind the leader here and could represent good each way value. EUPHORIA (8) disappointed as a beaten $1.34 favourite here last week and is drawn poorly but drops in class tonight. Tips: 1 6 2 8 Suggested Bet: MIDDLEPAGE (2) each way. Race 10 LUCAPELO (2) ran 5th to JUGGERNAUT (3) at his last start before going for a break but fares better at the draw tonight and has trialled nicely in readiness for his return. JUGGERNAUT (3) has resumed with a pair of placings in hot fields and is set to give this a big shake. ALL IS WELL (4) led throughout to win his last start but is drawn awkwardly here. LORD TITANIUM (6) has the ability to test the favourites but has the widest barrier to overcome. Tips: 2 3 4 6 Suggested Bet: LUCAPELO (2) to win. Market Market
