Scott Embry’s Bunbury Preview Posted on December 29, 2020December 29, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 IN THE BOAT is undefeated at trials since running a second at his first ever 400m jump out as a 2 year old. The three trials in this preparation have all been in time and in style under Brad Rawiller. Great opportunity to win on debut and looks highly promising. BRAVE BATTLE should make a race of it and it is rare that an impressive Lark Hill trial winner in Cerise and White won’t go round favourite. Looks the clear danger and they could clear out from the rest. STRUCK BY CHOICE ran alright on debut. HOT ZED an improver with racing. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – IN THE BOAT WIN RACE 2 SMASHING has had absolutely no luck of late. Really good run over 1600m in the WA Guineas and then dropped back to 1400m in the Sir Ernst Lee-Steere when running fifth behind Kissonallforcheeks, Solaia, Western Empire and Chantorque. Last start was held up the entire length of the straight and never got a crack at them. Compressed weight scale, small field, should salute. PRIZED MISS looks talented filly and this time of year is when the Cerise and White start wheeling out the good ones. WHAT ABOUT MOI ran a really nice race on debut. TOWN HALL next best. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SMASHING WIN RACE 3 SNIPAROOCHY has only had one public appearance and that was a 950m Lark Hill trial where she cleared out and won by 4.75L eased down in sizzling time. Should nearly cross from the outside gate and if she can find the fence it might well be all over. Hard to not be impressed. EX SPORT MAN looks to have ability and with the shades can hopefully hold a spot just behind Sniparoochy in running. TUNK was beaten out of sight on debut but ran home strongly after tailing off mid-race. SNEAKY CHANCE was given a sneaky chance in the market on debut (18 into 10) but got gassed. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SNIPAROOCHY WIN RACE 4 ANGELIQUE’S FAME comes out of a race where the entire field are being backed hard and running well at their subsequent appearances. La Farola Saturday (4.2 into 2.5), Our Danni (2.4 into 1.7) both won and Born To Try was plunged on Monday at Pinjarra. Senior rider on, drawn a gate, looks well placed. LADIES OF LONDON drops from a 66+ back into C3 company. Capable of taking it up and if she carries the weight should be right in the finish. BLAZING BILLY was bitterly disappointing first-up. His 3 year old form is super. LIL RED BIKINI gets it soft and there is a cutaway if necessary. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – ANGELIQUE’S FAME WIN RACE 5 FREQUENT FRIAR is no star, in fact he is fairly limited in all fairness. Has had a lot of chances and run a number of credible races without winning. Almost seems like he is better suited at a mile than he is at a genuine staying trip. Last start lead them up and faded into fifth but that form has held up through The Roan Ranger, Glenaureen and Black Melody. Last chance for him. CHOKSLAM is double nominated for Wednesday and Friday. Regardless of which race she chooses she’ll be tipped for second. Hard to follow with any confidence but does have ability. SESSIONELLE is first-up at 1705 but can run well fresh. TAKE ANOTHER LOOK finished off well in a very slowly run race. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – FREQUENT FRIAR WIN RACE 6 CALL AGAIN ran alright first-up at 1400m in a C3. Was beaten 1.8L when chopped out late in the race and the form is far enhanced with Regal Magic bobbing up at odds to win a Saturday Graduation over the weekend. Drops in grade, can hold a position in the run and likely goes round at an eachway quote. REBEL HEART did a super job to win first-up no trial at 1500m but couldn’t have fallen into a weaker maiden. SEA SPRING hasn’t won in over 1000 days but the last start run was good. TYPHOON BEN was the beneficiary of a William Pike perfect steer last start when given every mortal hope. Huge query on the form out of the race. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – CALL AGAIN EACHWAY RACE 7 INDOMINUS has been knocking on the door this preparation. Was an impressive trial at Belmont Park to start the preparation, a luckless first-up run when held up along the inside on a day where you had to be out deep, a huge effort second-up and then well supported in a strong form reference race in a 60+ at Ascot last start. Should be about ready to notch another victory. BIG CAROLINE ran out of her skin last start. Veteran mare who is starting to look like she stays. SAN CRISPINO is always a chance in this grade and always goes round at a price. AWESOME AS should get every mortal chance from the draw. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet – INDOMINUS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,6,7 2,5 1,2,4,5,8,9 1,3,7,11,12
