Deane’s Sandown Best Bets Posted on December 29, 2017 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 2 NO. 4 DOMESTICATED Handy staying mare DOMESTICATED is running into winning form and looks well placed to record her third career victory when she runs in the Benchmark 64 Handicap (1800m). The four year old battled on well when finishing second behind ADATTO over 1800 metres at Sandown Hillside on December 20. She will be fitter for the run at this distance and gets the benefit of young rider Liam Riordan’s 3kg claim. She possesses good tactical speed to make her own luck and should prove hard to beat. RACE 3 NO. 6 LIFE ON THE WIRE In-form Tasmanian mare LIFE ON THE WIRE represents the best bet of the day when she runs in the Fillies and Mares Benchmark 84 Handicap (1400m). The daughter of Pluck has built an impressive record of five wins from 11 starts including her last start victory over 1400 metres at Sandown Hillside on November 29. Whilst this is a slightly tougher race, she drops slightly in weight and her regular rider David Pires is reunited with the mare. She looks the likely leader and it will take a smart mare to run her down; should be winning. SuperPick - RACE 3 NO. 6 LIFE ON THE WIRE - Win Boost RACE 4 NO. 11 ZELSIGNORET The best value runner of the day looks to be ZELSIGNORET when she tackles the 3YO Fillies Benchmark 70 Handicap (1300m). The Darren Weir trained filly will be fitter for two runs this campaign and has been hitting the line strongly at both runs. Importantly, she steps up slightly in distance and gets onto a bigger track which will suit her racing style. There looks good speed in the race which will suit ZELSIGNORET and she makes appeal at each way odds. Bet Now
