Runner by Runner: Mares Classic Posted on November 25, 2020November 25, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper 1. Has No Fear Trainer: Jocelyn Young Driver: Jocelyn Young Sit and sprint mare who has the perfect draw for her opportunistic racing style. She was held up for a run when 4th to Stroke Of Luck in a stronger field here two starts back before finishing 7th in the Norms Daughter. She will enjoy a lovely run just behind the speed and will be dangerous if she sees daylight at the right time. 2. Vivere Damore Trainer: Peter Tilbrook Driver: Peter Tilbrook Led throughout here five starts back and hasn’t had much luck with barriers draws at her subsequent runs. She doesn’t have the class of many of her rivals but could find the pegs early and can figure in the finish under that scenario. 3. Millwood Molly Trainer: Aiden De Campo Driver: Aiden De Campo Led throughout to defeat Wainui Creek here four starts in a slick last half before struggling from wide draws at her next two starts. She overcame a backline draw to finish a solid 4th in the Norms Daughter and should be right in the firing line from her nice barrier tonight. 4. Typhoon Tiff Trainer: Colin Brown Driver: Colin Brown Bettors Delight mare who finished near the rear after breezing in the Norms Daughter but is a major player on her previous form. She led and sprinted home in 55.4 to defeat Our Alfie Romeo here recently and has the advantage of being the best drawn of the major chances. She has very good gate speed and will give a great sight if she can take up the running. 5. Mandy Joan Trainer: Aiden De Campo Driver: Dylan Egerton-Green Art Major mare who led throughout in a sizzling 1.54.9 here back in July. She hasn’t been able to make the most of handy draws in her four subsequent starts and will need to find a couple of lengths to figure in the finish tonight. 6. Queen Shenandoah Trainer: Ross Olivieri Driver: Chris Voak Consistent mare who was placed behind Our Alfie Romeo before finishing a close-up 5th in the Norms Daughter. She then chased hard but couldn’t catch the favoured pair when 4th to Balcatherine here last week. It is hard to see her winning this event but she could be placed if there is a solid tempo throughout. 7. Gotta Go Gabbana Trainer: Annie Belton Driver: Chris Lewis Started favourite from the pole barrier in the Norms Daughter but couldn’t make the most of the draw when she was crossed at the start before running a solid 3rd to Wainui Creek. She then enjoyed a similar trip when taking on the boys and finishing 3rd to Braeview Bondi here last week. She is capable of working in her races and still being in the finish so must be considered despite her wide draw. 8. Talkerup Trainer: Tony Svilicich Driver: Deni Roberts Did things wrong and finished at the tail of the field in the Norms Daughter but her form either side of that outing is very strong. She was a strong winner from the breeze over Whozideawasthis here last week but the wide draw makes it tough tonight. 9. Wainui Creek Trainer: Greg & Skye Bond Driver: Ryan Warwick NZ import who arrived in WA with a big reputation but disappointed at her first two starts here. She then found the front when defeating Sergeant Oats before living up to the early hype with an impressive win in the Norms Daughter. She isn’t as well drawn tonight but looks to be capable of further improvement and should prove hard to beat. 10. Somebeachparty Trainer: Barry Howlett Driver: Emily Suvaljko The least experienced mare in the field who is racing her way through the classes and should be a major player this time next year but is capable of causing a minor upset tonight if the breaks go her way. She attempted to lead throughout here last week and was only bloused on the line by the talented Balcatherine and must be considered on that effort. 11. Arma Indie Trainer: Mike Reed Driver: Mark Reed Talented mare who did lead throughout here four starts back but has finished near the rear in her three subsequent runs. Her effort to finish 7th in the Norms Daughter was solid but she needs to lift considerably to feature in the finish tonight. 12. Balcatherine Trainer: Gary Hall Snr Driver: Gary Hall Jnr Lightly raced mare who resumed with a comfortable all-the-way victory before finishing a solid 6th to Wainui Creek in the Norms Daughter after racing wide in the final lap. She then faced the breeze when a strong 1.54.3 winner over Somebeachparty here last week and has the class to overcome the backline draw. 13. Rosies Ideal (1st Emerg.) Trainer: Shane Young Driver: Shane Young Recent form is not flash but she has been faced with wide draws and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her figure in the placings if she was to get a start from an inside barrier. SELECTION: Balcatherine Has a 50% winning strike rate and indicated that she is now at her top with an impressive win in quick time here last week. She does have to turn around a 12m deficit from Wainui Creek and others in the Norms Daughter but the barrier draw looks more in her favour tonight and she appeals as the one to beat. Market Market
