Pinjarra 21 February – Thoroughbreds Preview Posted on February 19, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 3 NO. 12 MASSACHUSETTS MASSACHUSETTS looks perfectly placed to shake her maiden. She hit the strongly first-up at Narrogin and then finished powerfully in town where she was bumped off by a talented filly. The horse who ran third in that race won at Bunbury on Wednesday. From her middle gate she should about midfield and be too strong for these. RACE 7 NO. 2 AMACHISIT AMACHASIT has returned in career best form this campaign. He overcame difficulties to produce a strong first-up win at Narrogin and then last star at this course and over this distance was beaten less than half a length after tracking wide throughout. He’s drawn to get the run of the race and Pike rides. RACE 8 NO. 13 FIRST IMPRESSIONS Hopefully this is the second leg of a race to race double for William Pike. FIRST IMPRESSIONS showed plenty of ability in his first campaign running a strong second on debut behind a nice horse and then breaking his maiden tag with a dominant win. The 1412m first-up should suit and from his wide gate he should be able to stay out of trouble and be very hard to hold out late.
