Race 5 – No. 6  Santa’s Magic

Well supported from this very draw when on debut over the trip a month ago but after showing early pace he found trouble and pulled up with an injury. Well beaten in the City over 520m in two runs since but can make amends with better luck in running second time around.

Race 7 – No. 3  Shirakaba

Backmarker who missed the podium for the first time in 8 starts when finding plenty of bother over 490m at Mandurah last time out. Will need luck in running but can prove hard to hold out if she finds open space at the business end.

Race 11 – No. 2  Close By

Another back marker who is capable of producing a strong finish. He has a handy record over this trip and should go mighty close again from the favourable draw.
