Market Update: Railway Stakes + WA Guineas

TABtouch Market Update

Reigning Railway Stakes champion Scales Of Justice maintains favouritism with TABtouch at $6 for this year’s 2017 $1 million Group 1 James Boags Premium Railway Stakes.

The Lindsay Smith trained galloper will again be partnered by gun Hong Kong Jockey Douglas Whyte who piloted him to success last year.

Tom Melbourne has been runner-up at five of his six starts this preparation but local punters think he can go one better in the Railway with the Chris Waller prepared 7 year old firming from $7.50 into $6.50.

Runners to be backed at bigger odds include Variation ($12 into $10), Pounamu ($19 into $18) and Material Man ($21 into $20).

In the $500,000  Group 2 Sky Racing WA Guineas the Dan and Ben Pearce trained Money Maher heads up betting, firming from $4.60 into $4.20.

His recent win in the Fairetha was most impressive and punters are expecting a similar performance on Saturday.

Perfect Jewel ($5 into $4.80), Debellatio ($12 into $10) and Achernar Star ($15 into $12) have all tightened up in the market.
