Harry Buchanan’s Thursday Greyhound Best Bets

MANDURAH

Race 3 No. 4 Prompt Response

Broke through last week in a race that was arguably harder than this. Looks the one this time and only the box stands between him and victory. Can come from off the arm however. Big show.

Race 4 No. 8 Risky Assassin

Gets his favoured draw this time. Looked to handle the track well off a tricky draw last week and will appreciate the room out wide where he wants to be. A good step will see him punch up and be in the finish to hit the frame.

Race 5 No. 2 Rocky Balboa

He went super in a much harder race last week. Began well and showed pace but couldn’t quite get across. Moves to a much better draw this time, and his box manners look to be back on song. Can step here and stun these.

Race 8 No. 3 Messed Up Mary

Looks dead set thrown in here. Beat a much harder field than this last time and only bad luck and a lot of it will see her go down here. Will be short and don’t take anything silly but she should get the job done.

Race 9 No. 8 West On Fern and No. 3 Corrupted

The 8 looks well in here. Has the early speed to get across easily in this field and shouldn’t have any troubles dispatching this lot if she gets over by the first turn. Looks the one. The 3 hasn’t won for a long time but he won’t get a better chance to figure than this. Slow early but this field as limited as it gets. Look for him late.

Race 10 No. 2 Guess Why

Another one here who should not be dismissed at big odds. Can step and push up behind the pace and she rails well and will be strong late. Don’t worry about her form. She is much better than that, and has the draw to show. Each way player here.

Race 11 No. 7 Nitro Park

Probably prefer her inside, but she’s racing well enough to put this field away if she comes out with them. Has a nice turn of foot and looks to have handled the track perfectly since resuming. Just needs to notcrash across too quickly and she can hit the frame to score.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 3 No. 3 Running Dynasty

Giving her one last go here at Sandown. Seems to save her best for the Meadows, but this age restricted classic gives her an opportunity to show something at this track. Her best would see her win this. It’s just a matter of bringing it here. Box fine and can figure if she turns up.

Race 5 No. 3 Shima Deb and No. 1 Willa Bale

The 3 continues to put in monster runs. Got back and wide before making sustained ground home last week in the fastest run home of the night. This slightly easier and she gets her chance this time. Place at least. The 1 has had no luck since stepping up in trip. She gets a perfect draw now however and can punch up along the fence to be prominent throughout. Don’t dismiss her as she’s going better than it looks.

Race 6 No. 2 Fred Rose

Old mate Freddie. What can you say, one week he wants to win the next he’s happy to place. It doesn’t get any easier for him though and he only has to be an each way quote to be a great each way bet. Will look the winner at some stage. It’s a matter of whether he wants it or not. Should hit the frame at least.

Race 7 No. 6 Heffernan Bale and No. 8 My Bonneville

The 6 has a sticky draw but he’s better than most people think. Can get up there or come from back and is racing well at present. Has performed well in tougher class and can run a race here and surprise. The 8 has the big booming middle and last section and he’s the one they will have to hold out if he chimes him up the back. He just has to offset this outside draw as he can be a little tardy early. Watch for him late though.

Race 8 No. 4 Lornett Express and No. 7 Akina Jack

The 4 will appreciate the step back up to the middle trip here. Hasn’t been finding the front over the sprint and seems to step better on these corner starts. Very hard to catch when he leads. The 7 is a very interesting runner. Constantly rockets home against top grade company over the sprint trip and having his debut run over this middle distance. Puts himself into the races quickly, and if he gets this distance, watch out, he will take some stopping.

Race 10 No. 8 Xile Bale and No. 4 Lupini Monelli

The eight was a huge performance last week. Missed the start off box 7 and had to go over heels before getting a chequered run and finishing strongly to just miss the placings. A clearer run this time will see him threaten. Each way at least. The 4 was an outstanding win last start. Looked gone when a very strong dog took over mid race, but she did rally strongly to rail home and score. Can step and she will give a site if she gets near the arm.

Race 12 No. 1 Raven Nighthawk

Finally. Been battling poor draws and unable to find the arm but gets a badly needed rails box this time. Can step, go quick, and she’s very hard to get past when she leads. Gets every hope to lead all the way off the perfect draw here.
