Harry Buchanan’s Thursday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on August 31, 2023August 31, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch NORTHAM Race 2 No. 6 Nitro’s Ruby Gets some relief in company here and only has to offset the box early to figure. Good record track and trip and and breaks 17.5 at her top which wins this easily. Start critical but major player. Race 4 No. 4 Dandalup Cross and No. 1 Rogue Runner A limited affair this one which is why the 4 gets his chance now. Has strong form lines for this grade and small field gives him every hope. Likes racing here. The 1 will go fast to find the arm. Can skip away up the back and hard to mow down in this company. His best chance to date but also his last. Race 5 No. 5 Bracton and No. 8 Sebastian Mac The 5 has a strong record track and trip and handles most draws. Comes out of stronger grade 5 and will look to spear into a forward spot and be hard to stop. The 8 is well drawn and he could roll down the outside early to take up a position where he will be hard to hold out once they swing for home. Good EW play. Race 7 No. 8 Georgia Flash Steps up to 500 for the first time a long while. Will show pace down the outside and while her best chances lay with leading, she could settle close and be there at the end. May need this one but worth an EW play at the odds that she might get away. Race 8 No. 7 My Dad’s Augie and No. 5 Dashing Onyx The 7 is the best dog in the race and while the distance isn’t ideal, he does handle it well enough and can go close here. Just needs to step and show little early dash to be in the striking spot first turn. The 5 was disappointing last week but don’t be surprised if the slingshot comes out at box rise. He can drop a spear start from time to time and this is a race he could lead. Don’t ignore him. Race 9 No. 2 Starlight Gina Gets a better draw this time and could surprise. Has ability and after no luck in the final last week, will be looking to make amends off the better box. Can show up early and she is strong and has some fast wins to her credit at Mandurah. Good top 2 hope at the odds. SANDOWN PARK Race 3 No. 2 Kai Bale Barnstorming win last week when finding the arm quickly and never looking in doubt after that. Boxed even better this time and he will give another super show here with any luck through the middle. Gun sprinter who handles this middle trip just as well. Race 4 No. 1 My Catalina and No. 2 Pickled Piper The 1 will go better in this grade and can figure here. Takes a bit to wind up but sticks on strongly through the middle and will be there at the end with any luck. The 2 could surprise here after a fair 2nd last time. Has a strong run home when she’s on and will benefit from that effort to go better here. Can run top 2. Race 7 No. 2 Hamblin Bale One at odds here who can go well. Well drawn and while he can take a bit to get into his races, he works home well and rails strongly. Forget last start at the Meadows. Better suited here and great price for an EW play. Race 9 No. 2 Big Energy Should go close to leading here and that should be the difference. Much better dog on the arm and will run some time as he usually does when he leads. Can win off the arm but will need the right run. Well drawn and can bounce back easily here in a good race. Market Market
