Harry Buchanan’s Thursday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on June 8, 2023June 8, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch NORTHAM Race 5 No. 2 Barossa Rose Continues to race well here and again drawn to give another sight. Runs her 17.30-40 and that gets it done this time. Just needs a good step and clean first turn and she is in the finish. Race 8 No. 1 Guess Why Boxed to finally break through. She keeps finding one better but they are running time so she is going well. This is her best draw here and will just need to settle up close to leading and she can hit the frame easily. Great record off the inside and this has to be the day she gets her chance. Race 10 No. 4 Zipping Stefan and No. 3 Raw Steel Huge show the 4 here. Just needs to hold the fence behind the pace early and he can get into his work up the back. Will take all sorts of stopping this time. Great EW bet. Small save on the 3 who is a fraction under rated and can surprise. Goes quick and sticks on. Will be a sneaky hope if he leads. The 4 the main go EW though. Race 12 No. 8 Ninja Fun Loves this circuit. Boxed to muster up quickly again and can drop the 6.20 or so to lead. Will be hard to mow down if she crosses to the arm here running 17.3. Can hit the frame at least and round out the card at good odds. SANDOWN PARK Race 5 No. 6 Andre Bale Obvious danger to the fav here. Has raced much stronger opposition than this and with the vacant box inside him, he can get there much sooner this time. Will be strong late and can hit top 2 at the EW price. Race 7 No. 4 Mahjong Bailey Went super last week. Copped a few checks, pushed wide and still navigated a passage to run home stoutly for 2nd. Is a 6 time winner here and will be a good quote to spec for a top 2 finish. Will keep coming to the line and don’t dismiss Race 8 No. 8 Earthworm Jim Start critical here and if he steps and can cross, not sure they will catch him. Has a motor and while he is yet to win off the 8, this is his best chance yet. Strong and goes well around here. Looking for the arm early, and wins if he gets it solo. Good show. ALBION PARK Feature racing continues in Qld tonight with several key finals, preludes and FFAs to be decided. We will take a look at the main races here and isolate the best chances. Race 2 A 600m FFA with some very capable middle distance dogs. The 3 Sunburst, can surprise here. Has a good record here being a local and is way over the odds. Can lead and sticks on. The 1 boxed to go close here and has now seen the track while 2,4,5,6 all have had a look last week and will find more. The 3 EW will get a play here on a small scale. Bet: No. 3 Sunburst (EW) Race 3 A FFA over the staying trip here of 710m. The 3 Days of Thunder will be ready now at her 3rd run back. Has a booming middle and last section and will take some stopping here. The 8 First Picked will also get a play. Was superb last week making ground from the back and will go better again this week. Several hopes surround these with the 4 at good odds, while 1,5 and 7 are all capable of getting away in front but this could be messy and suit these back markers. Bet: No. 3 Days of Thunder (EW) and No. 8 First Picked (EW) Race 4 Brisbane Cup prelude here and with the scr of the 8, we are down to two divs. This fav in box 2 Cash Master, looks hard to beat, but the 4 Crackerjack Aret was excellent first look last week and one less dog to worry about suits. Strong and can hit top two here. Can break 30 easily and gets a good draw this week. The 1 can surprise as can the 7. Bet: No. 3 Crackerjack Aret (EW Top 2) Race 5 The Dashing Corsair final over 710m. The 2 Spot On Harper will be looking to run on and there is almost certain to be first turn trouble here. Goes well around this circuit and charged home again in her heat to just miss. Over the odds. Keep an eye on the 8 Wendy Rocks. She goes better up on the arm and could cross here. Will give a sneaky sight if she does and can even come from just off the arm. 3,4,6,7 the other key chances but all have tricky draws although Play Nice will get some attention. Bet: No. 2 Spot On Harper (Place Heavy) and No. 4 Play Nice (EW) Race 6 The Chase final over 600m here and good race. I reckon the 7 Zoha Bale can run a monster race. Never got a look last week when Keen got away only to see her charge home late. Was her first look here and she finds plenty this week. The 8 Palawa King made big ground to score in his heat but he can be awkward. Will run on. The 5 and 6 to go forward and the local in 2 will give a sight as well with his early pace and super record here track and trip. Bet: No. 7 Zoha Bale (EW) Race 7 Another Cup Prelude. The 6 Trooper Tears was very disappointing last week. Never really got into it and didn’t look comfortable at all. Can turn it around. The 5 Adhana Rico is way over the odds here and has a lot of ability. May be worth an EW go. Has raced some very good dogs and raced well. Speed in 1 and 3 and they can get away but would need to with some strong dogs here. The 2 racing well again and boxed perfectly with a lethal record off this draw. The 8 was excellent last week too and represents value. Bet: No. 5 Adhana Rico (EW) and No. 6 Trooper Tears (if he hits $3) Race 8 The Flying Amy Classic Final. Many chances in this edition with some good heat runs and improvement to come. The 5 Alpha Zulu stepped only fairly at best in his heat, but then showed a dazzling turn of foot while constantly checking trying to cross yet still found the top leaving the straight. Went 29.9 and the mail is he can go very much faster. He was also in one of the harder heats. The kennel mate in 1 Umberto, swished over from box 8 to lead all the way in his heat which was also a tough field. His win had merit considering the dog he held off is very strong. Sits up in the plumb draw to lead here. The 4 Zipping Remus didn’t run much time and got some first turn luck but he will find a stack this week on the clock. Lack of early speed his issue but map is ok. The 3 Victa Alby only went 30.09 and didn’t seem interested in putting the leader away last week for a while. Will need the same first turn fence run to even place. The 6 Dundee Rebel and 7 Magistrate fought their heat out in fast time and while the draws aren’t helping them this week, they will both try and punch across to lead. Will take some catching if they do but unlikely. The 8 Victa Marli won is very slow time due to nothing else wanting to win that heat and needs a miracle here to figure. That leaves my old mate in 2 Victa Damian. Punters again seemingly amazed that he was 4-5 lengths off at worst chasing 395m dogs or dogs who go 30.20 at best. The win was good, had some work about it, no doubt. It wasn’t great. Box 1 clearly assisting the task. Another simple equation here. If there is trouble and the gets the luck again, he will run into it. If they all get their chance, then taking the short quote is just throwing money away. As shown in the past, good dogs who lead and run time don’t give gifts away. The draw here isn’t good to say the least and he can’t give any start to at least 5 of these. In fairness, there are 3 or 4 other dogs who need the same amount of luck he needs to win this race. The 4 being one of them but he has the tactical speed and map to do it so he gets the nod EW here. Don’t want to be chasing the 5 as nothing can run him down. 7 the best roughie. 4-5-7-2 this year. Bet: No. 4 Zipping Remus (Place Heavy) and No. 7 Magistrate (small EW spec) Market Market
