Harry Buchanan’s Sunday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on August 6, 2023August 6, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 5 Scientist and No. 2 Commander Mack The 5 is racing well and only needs to offset the box here to be a force. Can show speed and sustains good run homes. The 2 was good last week after missing the start showed his customary turn of foot. Will do the same here and only needs to find the front to win before he hits that first turn. Race 4 No. 7 Timmy Timebomb Another who gets a map to suit here. Can step and show good dash and while he’s better suited drawn in, he will get the space here and runs the time to get it done. Just needs his usual good step and he’s the one to stop. Race 5 No. 4 Winlock News and No. 5 Cash Key The 4 won well last time and while he came from off the arm and got a little luck, he can show speed and goes much quicker than what he’s shown so far. Good chance if he leads. The 5 will be a price but is always around the mark and this is easier than the last few he’s faced. Can show speed and he sticks on ok. Race 6 No. 8 Ranger Ricksen He can show his good box speed here this bloke. Been stepping consistently well and goes his low 16s and will muster over quickly here. If he assumes control he will take no end of catching this time. The one to beat. Race 7 No. 8 Step Back Three and No. 7 Litchfield Expect the 8 to go better back in this grade and trip. Came out well last time but was outclassed by the opponents she faced and this is more suitable. Will try and cross early and she can stick on. The 7 opened up $19 and is into $5 now. She will be the one descending late and can settle close enough to do that and figure. Big EW show for her. Race 9 No. 4 We Can Too The only reason he gets the nod is the 600 back to 500 and the class drop. None of these are world beaters and all struggle to run city class times but the late race strength in the 4 might be the difference here. Focus needs to be on but can hit top 2. Race 10 No. 4 Remembrance Very unlucky last week again to strike trouble when pushing forward. Has a better map this time do a clean step is all that is needed to find the top and that would make her almost impossible to catch from there. Is ready to win. Race 11 No. 3 Extremely Smooth Stepped far too well last week off the middle draw and didn’t have the speed to capitalise on that. He usually misses it that half length and that’s what’s required here. Finds the fence and rails home hard this time and he is not without an EW show. Race 12 No. 1 Nitro Jet Start is where he wins this. Box will help him do it. Has a super turn of foot after box rise and only has to come out his best to drive up and accelerate into the back and put this beyond any doubt. He leads this, he runs 21.7 on a good track, he wins.
