Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on June 17, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 1 No. 5 Inside Scoop Very promising young dog who was excellent winning here last week. Draw a bit sticky but he is showing versatility and has already won from 6 and 7. Will be strong home here. Place heavy for him. Race 2 No. 1 Out Max and No. 7 Bad Boy Jagger The 1 will go very well here, especially if he can step and hold up early. Went super last time behind Flying Freda and stuck on well. The 7 will be descending from the back here. He gets wide but has a good middle and last section over this trip. Can hit the frame. Race 3 No. 2 Rowdy Bourbski and No. 6 Aquila Been waiting for the 2 to step up in trip and it has arrived, but so has harder company. Big price and needs to be right up to his best but worth a small spec at the odds. As is the 6 who will also face tough opponents here but there is a race for her soon and she could figure here with a good step. Don’t completely rule either out. Race 5 No. 8 Poppa Monno Well he hurt us last week. Took far too long to get into his work and the bird had flown and was already at home in the nest before this bloke got hot. Giving him another go as he’s well drawn and hard to stop when he gets mobile sooner. Smashes the line here. Race 6 No. 4 Elliptical and No. 2 Stanga Fire The 4 was stood on his head last week when in a striking position. Drives up quickly through the back section and the draw isn’t that bad here. Clear run and he doesn’t miss the frame. Can win. Save the 2 who could get there early this week off the good box. He’s racing well and can run the time needed. Race 7 No. 5 Hurricane Taylor Back to 600 now after he hurt himself last time over the distance. Will be ready for this and it’s his best trip at the moment. Can step, show speed and he sticks on strongly in what is a good race. What he does early here will determine his chances. Race 8 No. 8 Cawbourne Roses Box not completely ideal but she can show up early and get over. Has put in some good efforts since arriving in WA and coming off a short freshen will see her step and get up near the arm. Chases hard and can hit top 2 here if she crosses at box rise. Race 11 No. 1 Bang Boxed to win. Only has to step and show his usual dash to grab the arm. They then have to go 21.70 from the back to get him. They won’t. The start is all we are betting on here. He nails it and it’s over. He misses it and he’s in strife. He can and should dart out though. Best bet. THE MEADOWS Race 3 No. 7 Wrangler Jane Was a super performance last week when she copped a lot of trouble but kept finding the line at big odds, something she does regularly. This a little tougher but she will run on at a big quote again and can hit the frame. Race 4 No. 4 Gary Stun On Unlucky effort from Gaz 2 starts back when almost leading in a much tougher race behind Captain Larry. A 7 time winner here with early speed and strength. He will give a sight on the arm if he gets it quickly. Race 5 No. 8 Roman Blazer Led up in his heat but Trending Yale got behind him too soon. Could again swish over here and find the top and it will be much harder for them to get him this time. Start critical and that’s where his chances will be decided here. Must lead to win. He can. Race 8 No. 5 Sher Zany Has come back enormous this time in. Cut loose with another big run last week when putting a handy field away in style. Yet to miss a place since he’s come back and has a booming set of sections when wound up. Clear run all he needs. WENTWORTH PARK Race 2 No. 4 Zipping Mercedes Not a winning machine but strong and has raced far tougher opposition and gets in well here. Will look for the fence early and start a solid run home. Should hit the frame with any clear room. Can win. Race 3 No. 7 Cumbria Miss Another who runs ultra consistent races around here and while she is yet to salute, she keeps hitting the frame and can do it from most draws. Good in a field and will again hit the line for an EW play here. Race 6 No. 4 Nando Banner Giving him another go after a good win last time at Richmond over the middle trip. 4 time winner here and only needs to offset the box to be a major force in the run home. Big show here. Market Market
