Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 5, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: CHOICES FLOORING WESTBRED MS PACE HANDSANDWHEELS (9) ran 2nd in one of the 4YO Classics and has won his last two in impressive fashion. He is drawn wide tonight but still looks hard to beat. BETTOR BOA (1) is inconsistent and disappointed last start but her best is good enough to win this from the pole. LIGHTNING JOLT (2) isn’t racing as well as he was earlier in the year but has still won two of his past five and shouldn’t be far away. GLOW BRIGHT (6) needs luck in his races but will be running on if he gets the breaks. Tips: 9 1 2 6 Suggested Bet: HANDSANDWHEELS (9) to win. Race 2: IN APPRECIATION OF ROBBIE DEWAR MS PACE KHUN RATHA (3) was an impressive winner here two starts back before not getting into the race in a stronger field last week. He is nicely drawn and will appreciate the drop in class. BRONZE SEEKER (10) has finished near the rear at his past four starts since a good win here but is suited by this draw and could be value. DODOLICIOUS (8) disappointed last start and seems a long way below her best but is too good to overlook. BAD ROUND (1) doesn’t have the class of his rivals but is drawn to be thereabouts. Tips: 3 10 8 1 Suggested Bet: KHUN RATHA (3) to win. Race 3: TABTOUCH THE IM THEMIGHTYQUINN QUALIFYING HEAT 1 MS PACE MACZAFFAIR (4) led and won easily against the mares last start in solid time. She takes on the boys here but her 2nd to Ultimate Machete in the Golden Nugget showed that shouldn’t be a concern. IM ROCKARIA (8) hasn’t had much luck in the draws of late and is out wide again but this field looks to have less depth than he has been facing. LIVURA (5) ran a nice 4th last start and should be in the finish. OHOKA DARCY (3) disappointed at Albany but is well drawn and is next best. Tips: 4 8 5 3 Suggested Bet: MACZAFFAIR (4) to win. Race 4: RETRAVISION MS PACE ULTIMATE MACHETE (8) sat outside Tiger Tara before beating that pacer in the NZ FFA and then comfortably won both of our 4YO Classics. He looks a class above his rivals tonight and should be winning. JOHNNY DISCO (2) couldn’t get into the race from a wide draw last start but his previous form from better barriers was very good. NEW WORLD ORDER (4) would probably run a place in a Cox Plate and won’t be far away again. WALTER JAMES (1) should improve from the pole and is a place chance. Tips: 8 2 4 1 Suggested Bet: ULTIMATE MACHETE (8) to win. Race 5: PRINCI SMALLGOODS MS PACE LAZARUS (2) is Australasia’s best pacer and proved that with a 17m win in the NZ Cup and a dominant win from the breeze in the Inters final. He is perfectly drawn tonight and can add to his impressive record. DEVENDRA (6) was a very good winner here last week and could cross at the start. VULTAN TIN (1) ran 4th in the Inters final before recording a strong win in easier company and won’t be far away from the pole. COSTA DEL MAGNIFICO (10) will enjoy a soft trip on the pegs and could be placed at odds. Tips: 2 6 1 10 Suggested Bet: LAZARUS (2) to win. Race 6: YES LOANS MS PACE MESSI (8) has been a beaten favourite at two of his last four starts and is likely to head the market again here. He has good gate speed and will try to cross at the start and does looks the one to beat for those brave enough to support him. KERRIN JOSEPH (10) has been racing in stronger company and hit the line nicely last start and just needs luck from this draw to be in the finish. IT AINT ROYAL (6) doesn’t have the class of the favoured pair but can be thereabouts. MAJOR SPOILT (12) is better suited in stands but can be placed. Tips: 8 10 6 12 Suggested Bet: MESSI (8) to win. Race 7: DIRECT TRADES SUPPLY MS PACE TISADREAM (6) had bad draws and finished at the rear in two of the 4YO Classics and has finished 2nd at his two subsequent runs, including a near miss last week. He is drawn inside his main rival tonight and gets his chance to return to the winners’ circle. IMA ROCKNROLL LEGEND (8) has been placed at his past four starts but seems to find a way to get beaten. His last run was full of merit and is the main danger. REGAL AMBITION (5) and BUHN LERT (1) look good place chances from their draws. Tips: 6 8 5 1 Suggested Bet: TISADREAM (6) to win. Race 8: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC MARES MS PACE DIOR MIA MORE (5) was a good all the way winner over Maczaffair before disappointing as a $1.04 favourite. She then performed well when running on to finish 3rd here last week and is the one to beat. ALKIRAS DESIRE (1) has plenty of speed and was well driven to win at Bunbury before finishing strongly last start and is the obvious danger. MILEYS DESIRE (10) has won two of her last three in easier company and is drawn to get a lovely run. GIULIANA RANCIC (2) will appreciate this alley after drawing badly at her two runs this campaign. Tips: 5 1 10 2 Suggested Bet: DIOR MIA MORE (5) to win. SuperPick - Race 8 no. 5 DIOR MIA MORE - Money Back Race 9: WORLDWIDE PRINTING MS PACE JAMES GALLEON (7) was a solid first up 6th before disappointing when finishing near the rear at his last start. He has had six weeks off since that run and will be hard to beat in this moderate affair if he is at his best. CHAL STORM (4) has been driven too aggressively at his last two runs in stronger company but has won seven of his 13 starts and will appreciate this class. HIGHVIEW SADLER (1) is consistent and must be considered from the pole. BURNING SHADOWS (3) is well drawn and can be in the money. Tips: 7 4 1 3 Suggested Bet: JAMES GALLEON (7) to win. Race 10: PERTH PLASTERBOARD CENTRE 3YO MS PACE MISS SANGRIAL (1) was caught in the breeze when beaten as a $1.40 favourite here last week. She will enjoy a better trip and will be at longer odds tonight. COTT BEACH (9) crossed to the front from this draw last week and won comfortably. She is a good chance to do the same here but this field has more depth. MISTAHMISTAH (7) won his only start in NZ and was impressive in leading throughout to win at his WA debut and must be considered. BECHERS BROOK (4) has won three of his four starts but rises in class tonight. Tips: 1 9 7 4 Suggested Bet: MISS SANGRIAL (1) to win.
