Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Cranbourne Preview Posted on December 26, 2025December 26, 2025 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 MISS PLAYLOUNGE was well-ridden to score at Mornington then not disgraced when sharply up in grade at Pakenham finding all sorts of trouble obtaining clear running in the straight. She gets a good map parked midfield behind an expected genuine tempo, the end of 1600 will test her. I ONLY WISH continues her good form without winning, stable have opted for apprentice Logan Bates and he may find land her a pair or two closer. EXTREME VIRTUE is likely to hold the fence from GELLHORN crossing out wide, DIVINE THOUGHTS also kicking up from the middle. Selections: 5,6,1,4 Suggested Bet: MISS PLAYLOUNGE 1 x 3 RACE 2 Hot speed expected, WATERSPORTS may find herself the beneficiary if Williams can bang her out of the gates, a well-related mare, she was strongly-supported at Sandown last start and hit the line best of the closing bunch with the lead pair rated perfectly in front. Ditto DARK SIMBA who was good fresh then just a run up in Sydney, drawn nicely with the hot hand of Jackson Radley taking 3kg. AUSTRATA caught the eye at the trials and again fresh, getting long in the tooth but he’s going well this prep, rough hope at odds. AHHA AHHA is a complete enigma, she can drop out from the gate and sweat on the speed runners overdoing it, whether she turns up is the query. Selections: 15,6,17,11 Suggested Bet: AUSTRATA 1 x 4 RACE 3 Even race. PRIMAL SPIRIT has been well-placed to date by trainer Reece Goodwin and dropped in grade to score at Sandown last start. The tighter Cranbourne circuit is to her liking and can punch up to lead this field and give a sight at the higher level. MERCURIAL LADY will make use of the draw and position on-speed, betting is key coming off a four week gap. GRINZINGER POD was backed at a price first-up on the Caulfield Heath and ran well, where she gets to from the draw is Craig Williams’ problem. RIPROAR has stacks of ability and only shows it on occasions, could improve sharply second-up from a long spell. Selections: 3,12,13,5 Suggested Bet: None RACE 4 Two promising juveniles out of the trials go head-to-head on debut here, RESOLUTELY has been impressive winning both her Flemington jumpouts, the Hellbent filly looks a natural runner and has early speed to boot. Tricky draw, if she can ping the gates a big chance to upset the colt GUEST HOUSE for Price & Kent, stable have high ambitions for the son of Home Affairs, he’s big and professional and provided he gets around the tighter circuit, the horse to beat. LEOPARD SHARK has been doing good work at the jumpouts and will be strong at the end of 1000m, so too the Snitzel filly HENDON HONEY on debut for Moody & Coleman. Selections: 10,1,8,7 Suggested Bet: RESOLUTELY each way RACE 5 HARRY’S YACHT is worth persisting with, luckless at Ballarat which followed an impressive first-up win, stable are keeping his racing spaced and have placed the 4YO to win up against some questionable 3YO form. STEEL MOVE is at the opposite end of the scale with this being his 5th run in eight weeks, he continues to hold form and is again in winning contention. SILENT SHARES is an interesting runner and big market watch for the Gavid Bedggood stable. A fresh winner last prep, softer track conditions would elevate her chances. BUTTERNUT PRINCESS has performed well at the trials, should be hitting the line hard. Selections: 2,3,7,6 Suggested Bet: HARRY’S YACHT win RACE 6 Tricky race, many chances. Like what OUR CHIEF has been doing at the jumpouts to resume first-up at the 1400m, three jumpouts suggest some intent fresh, form was good before failing at Flemington and spelled, how they ride from the draw will have a large bearing on his chances first-up. MILLENIUM BLADE has been well-backed since markets opened, an easy kill at Kyneton first-up, from a perfect draw she will be given every chance to repeat the effort. THE VOLTA is lightly-raced and showing promise and could go on with it. TOY QUEEN was unlucky on debut, given a money ride at Mornington to break maiden at start two, sharply up in class and the 1400m is a query. Selections: 6,3,10,7 Suggested Bet: None RACE 7 LINCOLN ROCKS is 52 days between runs and was heavily supported to break a winning drought in the Kyneton Cup and delivered. A good map landing outside speed gives him a winning chance. With no pressure up front the stablemate FORTUNE is able to dictate terms from the gates and apprentice Logan Bates has been rating horses to perfection in recent weeks, the horses current form and this distance are both a query. REGAL LION is airborne and has received some brilliant Jamie Mott rides, the softer track at Ballarat was against him but he presented to win and was only swamped late. VERDAD appeals down in the weights for this. Selections: 7,6,9,5 Suggested Bet: LINCOLN ROCKS win RACE 8 BON FETE was heavily-backed in the final minutes of betting at Sandown and got up to score narrowly, with the confidence of a win now and holding her form she’s right in this race. WINSTON will take beating off the front, plain effort last start but has a gear change with blinkers off and winkers added to help him settle, he maps for sole control of the race without any pressure and the short Cranbourne straight gives him a some hope. WOLFESS was given a peach of a ride and went down narrowly to the former, a sticky draw is the concern, the extra distance is favourable. SUNTORA has struck a rich vein of form and appreciated the hot speed up front, doubt there’s any chance of that this time. Selections: 11,8,10,3 Suggested Bet: BON FETE 1 x 3 RACE 9 Looks a match race in two. ZOUPER FUND is airborne this campaign, at the jumpouts and on race-day with a booming finish on display first-up at Ballarat, he had conditions to suit but is equally-capable on top of the ground, with the stable running hot i think he can win again. RECON had the right run but was in the inferior ground towards the inside at Pakenham and did it off a four week gap. Hard to see how he can’t improve into this and has fared well at the barrier draw. MERIDIUS is a talented horse first-up for the flying Kennewell stable if the speed is on he can reel off a fast closing split. CELSIUS STAR the lamplighter and may stick on for minor money. Selections: 9,5,1,4 Suggested Bet: Quinella 9 & 5 RACE 10 Speed to come from OPENING ADDRESS, MIXXIT and CHAKADO. With a solid tempo, HIYAAM PROUD is placed to win tracking up behind that speed and comes out of a fast race at Pakenham last start where he chased gamely into 2nd. His willingness to win is always the query. MADIYYA gets winkers on, was super in defeat after having no luck fresh and charged home under her light weight at Pakenham, back up in weight but has the speed on to suit her racing style. WELCOMETOTHESHOW will be trying replicate his last start performance winning at Mornington. Selections: 5,10,13,1 Suggested Bet: HIYAAM PROUD each way ROUGHIE: R2#17 AUSTRATA Market Market
