Deane Lester’s Caulfield Best Bets Posted on April 20, 2018April 20, 2018 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Best Bets RACE 1 NO.1 FRENCH EMOTION FRENCH EMOTION is striving to win the VOBIS Gold Distaff (1400m) for the second consecutive year and appears to have enjoyed a good preparation to win this race again. The Chris Waller trained mare should be at peak fitness following two runs back from a spell and comes off a luckless last start 4th behind MISS GUNPOWDER in the Bendigo Gold Bracelet (1400m) on April 7. She’s well placed under the weight conditions of this race and should prove too classy for her rivals. RACE 4 NO.3 KIWIA Talented stayer KIWIA looks ready to fire following two runs back from a spell and makes strong appeal when he runs in the VOBIS Gold Heath (2000m). The four year old has been unsuited over shorter distances at both runs this campaign but steps to 2000 metres, a distance that he boasts a record of two wins and two placings from five attempts. Importantly, he has won three of his four runs at Caulfield so he has a genuine affinity for the track. He’s the best performed stayer in this field and represents one of the best bets of the day. SuperPick - Race 4 No. 3 Kiwia - Win Boost RACE 9 NO.13 LAND OF PLENTY LAND OF PLENTY made a welcome return to winning form last time and can win again when he tackles the TROA Anniversary Vase (1400m). The Darren Weir trained stallion was dominant winning in BM 90 grade over 1400 metres at Bendigo on April 7. Whilst he is stepping up in grade, he has raced well in stronger levels in the past and looks primed for a career best campaign. In-form apprentice Ben Allen takes the mount and LAND OF PLENTY should prove hard to beat. Bet Now
