Progressive stayer GALLIC CHIEFTAIN will be fitter for one run back from a spell and looks the one to beat when he contests the JJ Miller Hall Of Fame Trophy (1800m). The Darren Weir trained stallion caught the eye with a strong third over 1700 metres at Warrnambool on May 2 and looked unlucky as he suffered interference at a crucial stage of the race. He showed very good talent over the summer months and appears to have returned to racing in similar form. This is an ideal stepping stone for GALLIC CHIEFTAIN who appeals as one of the best bets of the day.

RACE 4 NO.4 SPANNER HEAD

SPANNER HEAD has been racing in great heart and only needs to maintain that form to be the one to beat in the Winx Hall Of Fame Trophy (1600m). The chestnut was a dominant winner over 1600 metres at Sandown two starts back before running a brave second behind subsequent group one winner EGG TART over 1600 metres at Flemington on April 25. She’s yet to run a poor race in her short career to date and gets her chance to win another race especially with the benefit of Jordan Childs’ 1.5kg claim.

RACE 8 NO.13 HARADAFULL

HARADAFULL is bursting to win a race and should prove hard to beat when he runs in the Archer Hall Of Fame Trophy (2000m). The Ciaron Maher trained gelding is on the comeback trail and has shown improvement at every run this campaign. His last start second behind the high class ARTICUS over 1800 metres at Flemington on May 6 is the definitive form reference for this race and he only needs to reproduce that effort to be the one to beat in this race.
