RACE 3 NO.4 HIGH BRIDGE

Veteran stayer HIGH BRIDGE is racing in solid form and looks the one to beat again when he contests the Open Handicap (2407m). The Chris Waller trained gelding was caught in the final strides when finishing 2nd behind EL DON in the Bagot Handicap (2800m) at Flemington on January 1 before recording a comprehensive win over 2500 metres at Flemington on January 18. He meets a similar field, looks drawn for a cheap run, elite rider Dwayne Dunn is forming a good association with HIGH BRIDGE and retains the ride. He’s a fit, in-form horse that should prove hard to beat again.

RACE 4 NO.3 MOOR WANTED

The Caulfield program only has small fields which makes finding a value runner a bit difficult, however MOOR WANTED is an honest sprinter in this grade and looks a good each way chance when he runs in the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1100m). The five year produced two solid runs when finishing 3rd and 4th at his first two runs this campaign before a totally forgivable effort when finishing 10th behind LORD VON COSTA over 1200 metres at Flemington on January 18. He was ridden too far off the pace on that occasion which is not his preferred style of racing which means he can bounce back to his best in this race. He is drawn for a cheap run with Damian Lane in the saddle and appeals as a value runner.

RACE 6 NO.4 JUST BENJAMIN

Imported galloper JUST BENJAMIN made a luckless Australian debut recently and looks a good chance to make amends when he runs in the Benchmark 84 Handicap (1800m). The four year old was badly held up for a majority of the race but charged over the final stages to finish 5th behind EXASPERATE over 1600 metres at Caulfield on January 4. He will be fitter for that run and the extra distance of this race should be in his favour. His main rival in this looks to be another import AKTAU who impressed at his Australian debut by winning over 1600 metres at Flemington on December 21. It looks a good contest however JUST BENJAMIN should be suited by this race and will prove hard to beat.
