Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on March 4, 2022March 4, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 2 No.1 Russian Conquest Back on the scene Saturday after beating all bar Coolangatta in the Magic Millions mid-January. She gave that filly a start before charging home late in the race to just miss out, given slightly further there’s a good chance she would have landed the bigger end of the prize. No official trials leading into this race however she’ll be well enough forward to give it a big shake with that residual fitness. As for the wet ground well she’s yet to race on it however her sire Russian Revolution won the Group 1 Galaxy on a heavy (10) surface. RACE 3 No.4 Psychiatrist Like the look of this youngster who has only had the two starts to date. Definite excuses on debut when the jock felt he may have been amiss, then two very good trials led into his impressive all the way return win at Canterbury recently when never in doubt. On paper his draw is awkward, on the map it’s no problem as he’ll get over comfortably. The unknown is the wet ground however his sire is Exceed And Excel, that’s a definite plus. RACE 9 No.7 Le Gai Soleil On what’s going to be a very wet surface at Randwick on Saturday this is one galloper who we know will just plough through it. She resumed here 3 weeks ago on a deteriorating Soft (5) surface when after sitting out the back before cutting loose from early in the straight to motor past her rivals racing on to score by 1.5L running away. Yes this is harder however she looks to have come back in great order and appears well up to taking on the tougher company. Quaddie 10, 9, 3, 8 1, 2 7, 1, 8, 6 10, 4, 3, 6 Market Market
