Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on August 19, 2022August 19, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 3 No.4 Go Wandji Well, I took him on last start and ended up with egg all over my face! I’ve well and truly learned my lesson and am back firmly in his corner on Saturday. Yes, he steps up to open company for the first time however it’s far from a strong line up and down 6kg in weight he looks the best of good things. Happy to take the short odds available as I think he’s the best on what could be a tough day. RACE 4 No.7 Za Ceibas Took the step from 1800m to 2000m with success at Eagle Farm last start and this time rises further to 2200m. He did have a charmed run that day in behind the leader and less weight than here however I liked the way he knuckled down and attacked the line once wound up, he was going away from his rivals suggesting the additional 200m won’t cause any issues on Saturday. RACE 8 No.8 Caffrey Desleigh Forster trained galloper who resumes tomorrow with a very good fresh record having won twice and placed the same from only five attempts. He’s had the two lead up trials winning the latest in good style at Deagon after racing wide and not being pushed out late at Doomben. Very unlucky not to win first up last prep he can make amends this time around. Quaddie 4, 8, 5 13, 2 8, 13, 2, 12 3, 16, 7 Market Market
