Deane’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on April 13, 2018 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 2 NO.7 AMORTENTIA AMORTENTIA has returned to racing in strong form and looks the one to beat again when she runs in the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m). The four year old was a dominant second-up winner over 1400 metres at Sandown on March 21 and should be further improved by that run. She has been astutely placed throughout her career by Enver Jusofovic and has built an impressive record of four wins and three placings from 11 starts. She has a good racing style in that she will make her own luck near the lead and should prove hard to run down again. RACE 3 NO.1 PALAZZO VECCHIO PALAZZO VECCHIO has endured mixed luck in three runs this campaign and only needs a reasonable run here to return to winning form when she runs in the Thomas North Handicap (1600m). The Mick Price trained filly has been badly held up in running at her past two starts, both at stakes level. She will appreciate dropping in class and looks drawn to enjoy a better. She gets the benefit of Chris Caserta’s 2kg claim and PALAZZO VECCHIO appeals as one of the best bets of the day. SuperPick - RACE 3 NO.1 PALAZZO VECCHIO - Win Boost RACE 9 NO.1 COOL PASSION Former West Australian mare COOL PASSION is the class runner in the Sandown Park (UK) Handicap (1100m) and looks well placed to record a first-up win. The six year old has won nine of her 20 career starts including a stakes win in the Northwood Plume Stakes (1200m) last October. She has trialled strongly leading into this race and, despite having to carry topweight of 60kg, looks the one to beat to beat in this field. Bet Now
