Greg’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on March 24, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 ROYAL STRATA shook her maiden with a solid midweek win where she did defeat a subsequent winner. From gate 1 she should box seat and if he gaps appear she goes close again. ONE FINAL WERD did plenty of work first-up from a wide gate. Expect her to improve off that run and give this race a shake. ATHLETE was just fair on debut. He should benefit from that run and the drop in trip is a plus. COUNTESS NATASHA has claims off an encouraging debut effort behind Royal Strata. Numbers – 3 – 8 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – ROYAL STRATA WIN RACE 2 INFATHUATED backs up for the fourth time in 3 weeks however he appears to be thriving on his racing and should go very close again. He should get the perfect drag on the leaders which offsets his 60.5kg impost. SO WHO’S HARRY improved sharply second up. He was carving out fast sectionals and was still there until the 100m mark. SETTLERS CREEK is always a chance at this level. CORPORATE LARRIKIN can win if he holds the lead. Numbers – 2 – 4 -5 – 1 Suggested Bet – INFATHUATED WIN RACE 3 BLACKLINE was awesome first-up. She led and cleared out to eventually win by 9 lengths. She was never let off the bridle by Peter Knuckey. Gate 9 should suit as she’ll land outside the expected leader MORE ACES and from there suspect she’ll be too quick and good. MORE ACES is the logical danger. He flies at this circuit/trip. NEXT GENERATION and MY GRACE the couple who are expected to finish strongly late. Numbers – 5 – 1 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – BLACKLINE WIN SuperPick - Race 3 No. 5 BLACKLINE - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 4 CONSEATED gets the nod in this very open feature mares’ race on the basis she should be able to find the front. She was tough fresh winner and then ran a top second the highly talented Three Votes. The 1200m against her own sex looks ideal. JESTAJINGLE was a bit flat first-up. She’s better than that and can improve sharply. LET IT SLIP flies fresh and has the draw she craves as she can be saved for one last electric sprint. FOREVER DIAMONDS is talented and has claims. Numbers – 5 – 10 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – CONSEATED AND JESTAJINGLE RACE 5 Good race which should be run at a strong gallop with the flying THREE VOTES engaged. Going for GIGANTE on the basis he has form over this trip and should be in the stalking position behind Three Votes. THREE VOTES could just lead and bolt in again however he’s untried at the trip so there has to be some queries whether he can run it out. PROCEEDWITHCAUTION has been cruelled by injuries throughout his career. His best is very good. ZUCCHEROS sits out the back and lets rip late. Suggested – 3 – 7 – 2 -5 Suggested Bet – GIGANTE 1 WIN / 2 PLACES RACE 6 Nine of the eleven starters had their last start in the JC Roberts Stakes however going for one that didn’t compete in that race, AT THE READY. He might lack the class of a few of his rivals however the one advantage he has on his rivals is the fact he’s proven at the trip and has miles in his legs. I think he can give a almighty shake at nice prices. FINAL SALUTE won the Roberts after being there to be overhauled at the furlong however he dug deep and lifted late. He’s the main danger. GATTING was the eye-catcher in the same race. TRAP FOR FOOLS will lead and is the one to run down. Numbers – 5 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – AT THE READY SAVE FINAL SALUTE RACE 7 CAPPO D’ORO returned to racing in a brilliant fashion when he settled back and wide and let down with an enormous finish. This race doesn’t appear that much stronger and a repeat effort sees him take plenty of beating again. PRYING TOM has had excuses at his last three starts. From gate 1 and the fact Pike could get a soft lead he gets one more chance. POLITICS produced a career best effort last start. He has returned to racing in great style. BERGIO next best. Numbers- 4 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – CAPPO D’ORO WIN RACE 8 RHI’S ROCKET resumed from a long lay-off last week and was solid. He should improve off that run and give this a big shake. PRESENTATIE enjoyed a nice run last start and won well. She goes close again. MARCHAND can lead and give a big sight. STAR GLITTER has claims if he gets some luck from his wide draw. Numbers – 10 – 7 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – RHI’S ROCKET AND PRESENTATIE Bet Now
