Scott Embry’s Ascot Preview Posted on October 31, 2016 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SLICK MOVER was supported on debut at Northam before being caught three wide on speed throughout. In a small field which lacks depth he can bring up his maiden win and looks to have more upside than a lot of these. ARLYAH finds it hard to win but both starts for the Harrison stable have been good. KRYPTO KID is an on speed type who will lead them for home. TOMOHAWK has trialled well for his return. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – SLICK MOVER EACHWAY Race 2 KARLAKEE MISS broken her maiden in style at Northam beating odds on favourite Chin Strap. Has form around Miss Somebody who ran well here on Saturday and from the favorable draw should be hard to catch. CHASER returns to WA after having one start for the Weir stable in Victoria. His trial effort was sharp and the well-bred youngster is sure to be well supported. SAMMY THE BOSS was an eye-catching trial victory, the barrier makes it tough but he will be steaming home. I AM INCREDIBLE and GENERAL HUSSON best of the rest. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – KARLAKEE MISS AND CHASER Race 3 BEG TO DIFFER has been below par all preparation, however, gets out to a more suitable trip for the first time. Drawn to get a lovely tow into the race and probably represents the best value in the race. EXPLOSIVE QUEEN broke her maiden at Northam last start and can definitely go on with it here. BURKINA showed that the Kalgoorlie form can measure up in town last start and with noted front-running jockey Matthieu Autier aboard will be running them along. GRINDABELLA must lump 59kg but is a genuine stayer. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – BEG TO DIFFER PLACE Race 4 JAZARI returned to the track first-up in the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes and found the opposition a little bit too sharp. Stepping up to 1400m is in her favour and this is no where near as strong a line-up as she met 10 days ago. OUR MATE AL needs the speed on in races for him to hit the line, Jarrad Noske is a positive riding engagement and no surprise to see him run a race. LORD LUDLOW and CORRESPONDENT represent the speed horses in the race and can both figure. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – JAZARI AND OUR MATE AL Race 5 YOSKI NOXIOUS resumes fresh without a trial, has a lot of ability but equally as many soundness issues. At his best he would win this but the jury is still out as to whether or not he is the same horse. ROTH DA TOFF gains the services of Paul Harvey who is in scintillating form and must be respected. DUSTY STORM could zip across and lead this field. BUCKTORIO was supported at Northam but failed to fire a shot, can improve. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – YOSHI NOXIOUS EACHWAY Race 6 DANEHILLS DAUGHTER savaged the line at Northam to win her maiden and she looks as though she will relish every inch of a mile. Drawn favorably in barrier 5 she looks the one to beat. CELTIC WIZARD drops back a furlong in distance on a short back-up and if he reproduced his Northam effort two starts back would make his presence felt. BIG RED COSTA should lead them and will be hard to run down. COME ON BOARD backs up off 3 days from Saturday where he ran fourth. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – DANEHILLS DAUGHTER EACHWAY SuperPick - Race 6 No. 7 DANEHILLS DAUGHTER - Money Back – Run 2nd Race 7 ROGER THE ROMAN is weighted to win this 1000m dash for cash and with arguably the best 3kg claiming apprentice in the state in Tayla Stone aboard gets his chance to win. CHINETTI is a speed demon who has suffered from cardiac arrhythmia twice in his 11 start career. If we disregard those runs his strike rate is exceptional and a recent trial suggested he might be back to his best. GRECO is another on speed horse who can jump quickly and put himself in a winning position. ELLORA MAY is better suited over further than 1000m but she looks like a mare who will rise through the grades. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – ROGER THE ROMAN AND CHINETTI Race 8 ROYAL MISSILE is one of the few fillies who are proven at 1400m in this field and for that reason I am putting her on top. She zapped a field with a fair bit of quality at her most recent outing and will have an impact on the finish. Stablemate CAPE LADY destroyed a field of maiden gallopers at Bunbury leading all the way and looks as though she will get a pretty soft time up front again. I AM BOUDICA was ultra impressive at Bunbury in the Listed 3 year old Classic, a form reference which has been franked through the likes of Sweet Ora, Saul’s Special and Humanity. CAIPIRINHA will do it tough from barrier 11 but oozes class. Numbers: 3 – 12 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROYAL MISSILE AND CAPE LADY Race 9 VARIATION is a 3 year old taking on the older gallopers and his form lines simply look superior. He looks like the best bet on the card even at the short quote. Should enjoy an economical run from the inside gate and prove too strong. O’REILLY’S CRUMPET regains the services of WA’s best jockey William Pike and on paper looks the only danger to the favourite. STEEL SPUR is a 7 year old who bobs up from time to time. PEGGY SUE was a little flat at her return and can improve second-up. Numbers: 13 – 8 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – VARIATION WIN Quaddie 1,3,7 1,3,5,7,8 1,2,3,7,10,12 8,13 Bet Now
