Flemington Return for Perfect Reflection Posted on February 18, 2016February 22, 2016 | Posted by Julio Santarelli Leading Victorian trainer Darren Weir will unveil gun Western Australian-owned filly Perfect Reflection in The Vanity (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday. All eyes will be on the More Than Ready three-year-old who tackles the big guns over east after a flawless maiden campaign in Perth last year. Under the guidance of Grant Williams, Perfect Reflection won five races and retained her unbeaten status with a Group 1 win in the Kingston Town Classic. Weir said Perfect Reflection, who has drawn barrier one in the field of nine and will be in the hands of Ben Melham for the first time, is showing good signs. “She turned up to my place in great order and I have kept her work up,” Weir said on TABradio. “She has had a quiet barrier trial and a solid barrier trial and found the line in both of them. “She seems really happy and well horse.” Perfect Reflection meets a hot group of rivals for her interstate debut including the Ciaron Maher-trained Oaks-winning filly, Jameka. Maher said the $3.90 second favourite was primed for her first up assault after a gallop on the course proper at Caulfield last Saturday and an easier hit out on Tuesday. Jameka will start from barrier six for Damien Oliver. Wayne Hawkes cautions supporters not to discount the chances of Euro Angel after her sizzling win on debut at Rosehill in January. The daughter of Rip Van Winkle looked beaten with 200m remaining but sizzled home to defeat Sonic Swish and Al Nader. “It was the most ridiculous win you will ever see,” Hawkes said. “She was five lengths off them and going backwards at the 200m. “They don’t win like the way she did and the last 100m she just flew.” Euro Angel is a $10 with the TAB. Jason Winks takes the ride from Tom Berry. Scared Eye from the David Hayes-Tom Dabernig team returns after running seventh to Jameka in the Oaks last November. She just tapered off after displaying top form earlier with two wins and two placings from her opening four starts. Alaskan Rose should be improved and will strip fitter after finishing sixth to Heatherly over 1100m at Flemington on January 30. bet now
