Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on May 14, 2026May 14, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Interesting race. BELLA BLAZE started firm in the market in a strong maiden at Ballarat, beaten for early speed and hit the line hard. Up to 1400m on another big track, a winning hope. The giant filly CENTENARY FLORIN had no trouble on a heavy track despite the significant market drift at Warrnambool, did jumpout well at Flem prior, looks a key speed runner. RESONANT had the right run on debut and is a key chance in this. MENESS is sure to be fit first time out, improved sharply between two jumpouts and strong through the line at Caulfield. Bad gate. Selections: 12-5-1-2 Suggested Bet: BELLA BLAZE 1 x 3 RACE 2 Loved the debut win of BRILLIANTEZZA charging home at Wangaratta. Bred to get over a trip, if she settles as well as she did on debut the 2000m should pose no problem. Open race and one of the key chances. CLASSIC GEM is arguably the best maiden in the country, she is desperate for a wet track and won’t find one this week, does get visors on. DIFFERENT GRAVY has had a poor start the prep, he gets blinkers on third-up and has the ability to bounce back. CATCH THE MOON could give a sight in front, hard and fit for the Maher camp. Selections: 8,3,1,11 Suggested Bet: BRILLIANTEZZA 1 x 3 RACE 3 Quite a few mares here out of form. LOVELYCUT finds a good race switching back to mares grade with enough speed on to offset the wider draw. MADIYYA is honest and consistent, up in the weights which is a query. SWIFTIE HARRIET crosses the border and comes back to benchmark company, looked her best on soft tracks, unlikely to receive. XARPO has been up a little while now, she will punch forward again and give a sight. Selections: 2,4,5,3 Suggested Bet: LOVELYCUT win RACE 4 CONCORD CONNIE is well-named, fortunate to find a fast run race when there was very little speed on paper last start and produced an outstanding performance. Anywhere near a repeat and she wins again. Throw a blanket over the rest. Can see HUMBLE TRADER running a race second-up after winning at Pak, he’s been kept fresh for this, 1400m ideal. LUCKY LUCKY BOOM returns from a break, recent jumpout was impressive, may find these too hot but minor money hope. HULKSTER & SULEK have claims. Selections: 7,3,8,12 Suggested Bet: CONCORD CONNIE win RACE 5 Genuine tempo expected. YES YOSHI was unlucky and an ugly watch for his backers at Bendigo when fresh up, he also did himself no favours with his racing manners. I suspect the straight track will appeal to his racing style left alone out wide on the track. MARSEPT ran enormous fresh and a dominant maiden winner at Geelong, will be among the speed battle, any rain would increase her winning chance. CATWALK ICON is a fast horse who can sustain a gallop, the straight should suit. PURPLE STREAK is progressive, been well-placed to date. Selections: 9,16,14,7 Suggested Bet: YES YOSHI win RACE 6 The lead is up for grabs so it’s a tricky race. Import ZAHRANN is a big market watch, he could be positive first-up at the mile and win what is a pretty even contest. WONDER BOY is hard & fit and racing super, prefer him in a race with speed up front. VERDAD can be positive from a wide draw and the likely firm track is in his favour. MISS PLAYLOUNGE and OH TOO GOOD come through the same race, hard to see the latter turning the tables giving more weight away. Selections: 1,4,8,10 Suggested Bet: ZAHRANN each way RACE 7 Intriguing kiwi visitor is CROUCH who can hold a forward spot and is dour, he handles all surfaces and will run a strong 2800m, that’ll do me. Take your pick of the locals, ZAKOUMA has at least a turn of foot which many of his rivals do not. Doubt they go too hard, he will have to take his medicine early and go back. CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD should be positive and likely leader after winning the Sydney Cup. Drop back in distance is no negative. THE WESTERN FRONT is an improving stayer and chasing a hat trick, class the query. Selections: 5,10,1,9 Suggested Bet: CROUCH 1 x 4 RACE 8 DE BERGERAC is a streaky galloper but generally saves his best for Flemington and straight line racing. He looks to have found a perfect race and set-up to be winning coming back from Sydney. STOLLI BOLLI was excellent winning at Bendigo, he did have the race shape in favour and will needing the speed on again, not always a given with these straight races. HEARCOMESTHESTAR can be competitive, ideally needs a soft track to show her best, always consistent, lower drawn a possible concern on the day. Selections: 7,12,14,13 Suggested Bet: DE BERGERAC win RACE 9 MR BLUNT has plenty in his favour for back-to-back to wins, heavily bet fresh at Caulfield and disappointed, better second-up then hit his straps here last time, still on the up and should be nearing peak fitness. He gets a beautiful map trailing the speed with no weight. EUPHORIC loves Flemington and the 1800m is perfect second-up, if he can overcome a sticky inner draw he’s a minor money hope. So too OPENING ADDRESS who looks our leader. SKIPPERS CANYON will need luck or the speed on, always a risk with his pattern. Selections: 11,4,5,7 Suggested Bet: MR BLUNT win Market Market
