Chris Nelson’s Saturday Eagle Farm Preview Posted on November 6, 2026November 6, 2026 | Posted by Chris Nelson Race 1 Racing at Eagle Farm in Brisbane on Saturday, track should be rated good. Found this opening race a very tricky one to sort with negatives & positives for all runners. I’ll lean to (3) VINTAGE VIBES however the price on offer is too short, yes he’s in good form however a 5kg weight rise off the win here last week is a sharp one. (5) AMERICAN CONQUEST may well be suited by the likely solid tempo & could run into a placing at odds whilst (1) PETITE PALACE & (6) SORT CHA MESS rate winning chances also. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. Race 2 (Best Value) Giving (5) READY FOR THE TRIP another chance here. He’s raced with no luck whatsoever his past couple being trapped wide at both. He managed to stick on two back however couldn’t last time out. Small field, not a strong one & surely he’ll find some cover this time around. Stablemate (4) HOT MAJESTY comes into the race off a last start win, very one paced & comes back in trip which isn’t ideal he’ll be up near the lead bowling along though & they’ll have to get past him. (9) PECCAVI is improving nicely, (6) ROCHDALE HERO 1815m?? Numbers: 5 – 4 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet: READY FOR THE TRIP EACH-WAY. Race 3 Sticking with the consistent (5) YES DONALD YES who is busting to win a race & finds a suitable one here. Close up his past 3 starts he’s had little or no luck with the latest a solid finishing effort on a heavy track which is not his go. (19) EGMONT out of the Waller yard won on the Gold Coast Poly when debuting before running a good fourth in open 3yo company last start, plenty of upside with him. (3) KOKATAHI looks close, does rise to a decent weight though. Numbers: 5 – 19 – 3 – 15 Suggested Bet: YES DONALD YES TO WIN. Race 4 Open affair, these types do tend to mix their form, there’s not a great deal between them, luck in running will prove all important. (9) LIBERTY PARK won his first two this prep before taking on stronger company last start when well thrashed, I’d suggest that had a fair bit to do with the heavy (10) track though. The rise in trip suits & he races well here. Giving (10) NAVAL SEAL a decent chance however a kinder draw was what he needed, unless there’s some urgency shown early he’s just going to drift back & once again try to run them all down in the straight. (3) CUNAMULLA FELLA a chance, (2) MIGHTY ULYSSES the lone leader on paper, include. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet: Exotics best. Race 5 (Best Bet) (14) SOUTHERN HEIRESS can break through here at her third outing for the Gollan stable. She’s hit the line well at both local starts however has just given away too much ground. This time around she draws the fence & from there I’m sure Angela Jones will have her in a position to strike! (13) HE’S TRU BLUE was engaged in a sprint home last start & was outgunned by the leader who he settled outside, looks close. (10) MERCIAN & (1) HELL TO PAY in the mix also. Numbers: 14 – 13 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet: SOUTHERN HEIRESS TO WIN. Race 6 (9) JUST PRECIOUS is flying having won her past 3 starts. She’s been aided by good barriers & kind trips however today draws wide & will need a little luck on her side. I’m going to side with (3) ESJAY who will find this a lot easier than recent runs & comes in nicely at the weights, no clear leader on the map will directions be to roll forward? Let’s hope so! (10) POCKET FULL was a sneaky good run last start running home well sectionally. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet: ESJAY TO WIN (small bet). Race 7 (Best Bet) Keen on the chances of (1) KING OF POP who was having his first outing for the Gollan stable recently when having absolutely no luck in the straight. He looked full of running when running into traffic, having to then come across heels for clear running, he wound up nicely & found the line well, arguably wins with a fair go. (4) INCOGNITO comes north having raced twice this prep in different states, latest was encouraging & his 2yo form was very good. (9) MILITARY TYCOON another with strong form lines & a solid fresh record. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet: KING OF POP TO WIN – Former NSW galloper who was very unlucky at his local debut for leading trainer Tony Gollan. Badly held up until late he still clocked the fastest final 200m of the race. Stick with him. Race 8 Looking for (9) EASY LOVE to bounce back here. She was very impressive winning first up overcoming traffic in the straight to score running away. Second up she found herself in a race which was slowly run yet again she made good ground however the race dynamic gave her little or no chance of reeling the leaders in. This should be more truly run. (13) TWISTED QUEEN is a model of consistency & rates a definite on pace chance once again whilst (14) MISS MARANDA comes out of another slowly run last start race, nothing went her way yet she was beaten under 3L on the line, wide draw not ideal though. Numbers: 9 – 13 – 14 – 1 Suggested Bet: EASY LOVE TO WIN (small bet) Race 9 (5) LA ROJA has met with good early market support & being first up having her initial outing for a new stable that’s exactly what I was hoping for. She’s run well fresh in the past, holds solid form lines & her two trials have both been very soft out of the placings yet asked for no effort whatsoever. (12) NOBLE DECREE is a strong fresh performer who will go around at a decent price, trials have been encouraging. The consistent (2) GOSPEL GIRL & a fitter (3) STREET CHASE both in with chances also. Numbers: 5 – 12 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet: LA ROJA TO WIN. Race 10 Final race which looms as a terrific 3yo contest. (2) ZIP LOCK resumes off a long break, we haven’t seen him since the Magic Millions back in January. He was all set for a big winter however went amiss & missed out completely. Two trials should have him ready, market? I’m going to lean to the second-up (6) ELEVATING who was narrowly beaten first up off only one trial & on a heavy (9) track, surely takes plenty of benefit from that! (1) SILKEN SALUTE is big odds which is surprising considering the calibre of races he contested at his initial prep. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 14 Suggested Bet: ELEVATING EACH-WAY.
